Southfield (WWJ) -- The FBI will hold a memorial for the K-9 killed during a shootout in Dearborn and the dog's name will be added to a memorial wall.
Freddy was a nearly 3-year-old Belgian Malinois who was killed Wednesday during a gun battle between agents and Luqman Ameen Abdullah, described as the radical leader of a Sunni Islam group.

If given the choice between a muslim or a mutt, the canine will win every time.
He gave his life in service to his country, there is
no higher accolade I can give him.
Nice. Too bad they don’t memorialize all the innocent dogs killed in DEA raids.
“A day after the leader of a radical U.S. Sunni Islam group was killed in a shootout with federal agents...”
I’m real sad about the dog, but at least the story has a happy ending.
I only heard that a dog was killed in the raid and assumed that it was the suspects' dog which was shot as part of law enforcement's new SOP to shoot the dogs to intimidate the suspects. I never even considered that it could have been a police dog killed in the shootout.
Canine hero.
I am sure that Hero Dog bit the ass off the murdering muzzie.
Ooops, was that hate speech?
My Belgian Tervuren salutes him...
...and ditto their terv cuzzins!
Sorry, I can't find a photo of Abdullah. But here's a photo of the police dog that was killed and a photo of a Fox photographer being attacked by Abdullah's followers for trying to take a photograph of his mosque.
The Fed’s shouldn’t waste time on a trial for these Rag Heads.
My “Frodo” is a Malinois mix. His heads a lot wider though, maybe some Akita? He’s got the tan coat and black mask, though. He’s a rescue, he’s a great, beautiful dog and would go to the mat with any of the likes that “Freddie” had to deal with . RIP Freddie dog.
I agree pardner........
Nuke the site(Dearborn) from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
