"Doug Hoffman and NY-23 is an earthquake in American politics, and is the first of many challenges to establishment Republicans that we will see for the 2010 elections and beyond. The stupid decision by Republican leaders to pour $900,000 into the NY-23rd race against a conservative has unleashed a fury that will lead to new GOP leadership.

ONLY if we keep up the pressure. The GOP has become infested with RINO’s.

Excuse me .. how can you blame Bush for Chrysler and GM bailouts ..?? Obama was responsible for that fiasco.

And .. if all you can do is bash Bush - get lost!

Bush is no longer in office and Obama has done more damage in 9 months than Bush did in 8 years.

You mean the TARP funds ..??

If so .. THAT WAS NOT BUSH’s IDEA - IT WAS THE TREASURY DEPT - GUIDED BY OBAMA - who didn’t want a good crisis to go to waste.

These were the TARP funds.

I told you .. it was the Treasury dept that foisted this upon us .. after the democrats manipulated Bush by telling him the world was going to collapse. If you recall, it was a DEMOCRAT who was appointed Treasury Secretary. And .. being a democrat, I never did trust the guy, and it looks like my assessment of him was correct.

And .. knowing this info .. you cannot possibly see any collusion involved here ..?? Nooooo .. it’s always Bush’s fault .. and most of us are really sick and tired of hearing about it .. since your candidate has totally destroyed our economy .. and all you can say is “it’s Bush’s fault”.

You don’t have your facts straight. The Secretary of Treasury at that time was Hank Paulson, who was appointed by G.W. Bush.

This was in November and December of last year, before Obama had been sworn in as President.

You just don’t get it do you?

Well .. I’m tired of arguing with someone who is so blinded by their hatred of Bush.

Goodbye!!

Since this is a press release from Viguerie, I don't think there's any problem quoting it in full. Here's a link to the item on his ConservativeHQ website:

http://conservativehq.com/blog_post/show/426?printable=yes

Written by Richard Viguerie on October 31, 2009, 04:15 PM
The following is a statement by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, concerning the withdrawal of GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava from the special election in New York’s 23rd congressional district:

“In her statement announcing suspension of her campaign in the special election for New York’s 23rd congressional district, Assemblywoman and liberal GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava refused to throw her support behind a fellow Republican, Doug Hoffman, who is running on the Conservative Party ticket in this particular race.

“That was one more example of the ‘closed tent’ mentality of big-government, establishment Republicans who have worked long and hard to keep conservatives out of power at the national, state, and local levels.

“The GOP leadership’s backing of Ms. Scozzafava was a slap in the face to Tea Party activists, town hall protesters, and conservatives across the country. The Washington GOP establishment’s abandonment of fiscal responsibility led directly to the election of Barack Obama as President and Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. The American people see the GOP leadership and establishment every bit as much a part of the problem as the Democrats.

“Doug Hoffman and NY-23 is an earthquake in American politics, and is the first of many challenges to establishment Republicans that we will see for the 2010 elections and beyond. The stupid decision by Republican leaders to pour $900,000 into the NY-23rd race against a conservative has unleashed a fury that will lead to new GOP leadership.

“Conservatives anger at Washington-establishment Republicans will cost the national committees tens of millions of dollars as conservative money will start flowing directly to the Tea Parties and their candidates.”

I wondered how long it would take until some of you turned up to trash Viguerie.

I recall that during the last pres campaign, a posted story about Ron Paul that quoted Richard Viguerie was vandalized by the Admin Moderator with quotes slamming Mr. Viguerie. The source of the quoted material was a left-wing site that had as a stated goal (on its about page) of fighting the right.

Many on FR are not conservative.

Many on FR are not conservative.

And many on FR who call themselves conservative are the "newer, improved" version that has gotten us into the trouble we're in today.

"Doug Hoffman and NY-23 is an earthquake in American politics, and is the first of many challenges to establishment Republicans that we will see for the 2010 elections and beyond."

Like I said in an earlier thread, we are witnessing a "paradigm shift" and those espousing "conventional wisdom" (like Newt) are unaware of the phenomenon...
