Corzine Courts Obama Backers in All-Out Push

By DAVID KOCIENIEWSKI October 31, 2009

NEWARK — In the final hours of this intensely fought campaign, supporters of Gov. Jon S. Corzine are knocking on doors here with a message for people who voted for Barack Obama: Your president needs you.

In an effort they are calling “Yes We Can 2.0,” Corzine campaign officials are devoting millions of dollars and thousands of volunteers to try to bring back to the polls those 442,000 New Jersey residents who had never voted before Mr. Obama’s election last November. They are flooding them with phone calls, mail and text messages, hoping to contact each of them at least eight times before Tuesday.

With the president significantly more popular than Mr. Corzine in New Jersey, the governor has lashed himself to Mr. Obama, and will appear beside him Sunday on the president’s third visit to the state to campaign on Mr. Corzine’s behalf.

Whether the first-time Obama voters turn out could make a crucial difference in this race, with most polls showing Mr. Corzine and his Republican opponent, Christopher J. Christie, still running neck and neck two days before the election.

The outcome could also help answer a question nagging at Democrats nationally: Can they keep engaging those drawn to the polls by Mr. Obama’s charisma and historic campaign, or will last year prove a one-time surge for the party?

“If Corzine can activate the Obama surge vote in New Jersey, that would suggest that last year was more than just a flash, that it has staying power,” said Allan Lichtman, a history professor at American University. “It will show that Obama’s support was about more than just one candidate’s charismatic personality, and give him a chance to transform American politics.”

Biggest concern in N.J. is voter fraud. And I really have to wonder if any of our ‘republican establishment’ are paying any meaningful attention to this issue.

Tea party patriots need to stand at these offices all day and even a whiff of impropriety, report it. I heard the democrats have filed a preemptive lawsuit saying that if signatures don’t match, they should count anyway. Sounds like a set up for fraud to me.......

I miss nothing of political life since escaping the peoples republic of NJ, though I do miss alot of good people and family there. Godspeed NJ.....I will be praying for your election outcome.

Just imagine how many dead Democrats and other ghosts will be up and voting often on election day. Then add in illegals, felons, mentally deficients, and nursing home residents who let others vote for them on absentee ballots.
I predict another massive victory for the DEMONcrats in NJ.

Did anybody happen to catch the FOX News focus group of New Jersey voters? Boy, what really dense people. And what really got me was that these were middle class well educated people. These are the kind of people who are the cash cows for all the Dems wasteful spending. Yet, most of the group were spouting the old Democrat party lines. All I can say is everyone in red country had better get out and vote because the Dems have the blue area voters in a deep trance. How can anyone still vote Democrat after what we have seen since the Dems took over the whole government. Wasn’t the first 1000 page health bill released in the dead of night enough of a wake up call? Dem voters are like children they have a child like trust in the Democrats, like the Dems are Santa Claus to them.

Key thing to watch is if Obama’s schedule “suddenly” has to be changed & he doesn’t show tomorrow. If that happens....means internal polling for Corzine is way worse than the published polls...& “O” doesn’t want to be near the stench of the rotting carcass....here’s wishing for a “no show” tomorrow.....

There are probably hundreds of thousands of no such addresses, no such phone #'s, no such e-mail addresses more than likely. It's hard to reconnect with fraudulent voters.

How can they reach them—they are DEAD—all 442,000.

It’s just a joke that it falls to us to patrol voting precincts and monitor this crap. Countless millions of dollars have been donated to the Republican Party and they do nothing. Republican Congresses, when in the majority, could simply fund a genuine monitoring/enforcement program, they do nothing. What a fraud the whole thing is. Bring on the rebellion, let the heads roll. Literally.

Same exact thing here in VA (or at least NoVA). “We did it last year, WE CAN DO IT again” for Creigh Deeds (who’s been endorsed by the Washington Post, if you didn’t know) ...

If someone's campaign called me eight times in the course of three days, I would never vote for him - even if it were Ronald Reagan. What an intrusion.
