Population Control in an Aging Society
The Christian Post ^ | Oct. 31 2009 | Ken Connor

Most would agree that conserving resources and minimizing adverse impacts on the environment make sense, but something has gone terribly awry within the Green Movement. Environmental extremists championing "population control" as a means of protecting Mother Earth show that they have little regard for the human species. Some recent comments by prominent Green advocates suggest that one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce the global carbon footprint is to reduce the population. As means to that end, they advocate aggressive birth control and abortion. Their argument is simple enough: fewer people put less strain on natural resources, use less energy, and generate less pollution. Wealthy countries, so the thinking goes, are particularly suited to implement this strategy because they have ready access to birth control and legalized abortion. The "Extreme Green" are perfectly comfortable with encouraging members of the human species to destroy their young, but mortified that human beings would disturb an eagle's nest or a turtle's egg. Setting aside this moral confusion, there are significant social and economic implications of population control policies on societies already struggling to cope with a rapidly aging population...

Simple answer: these “Greenies” should kill themselves before they get old. Let them lead by example.

This is the end game.

These people want about 1/2 billion people on the planet.

That means that about 7 billion gotta go.

Progressives get to decide who lives.

The opening sentence is wrong. Exploiting the earth’s resources for the good of mankind to their fullest potential makes sense, anything else is envirowacko garbage.

Exploiting the earth’s resources for the good of mankind to their fullest potential makes sense ...

This begs the question. What is that fullest potential? Surely not the support of the now infamous figure of 1,000,000,000,000 people? If not 1,000,000,000,000 , how many? There is a limit to everything!

Population Control in an Aging Society

An aging society has built-in population control by definition.

THIS aging society would naturally attain zero population growth or even negative population growth EXCEPT for immigration from Mexicans who are breeding like rabbits.

Their argument is simple enough: fewer people put less strain on natural resources, use less energy, and generate less pollution.

If all else were equal, that'd hold.

It isn't, and the result is that the technically capable are out bred, out innovated by the less restricted and encumbered, and eventually will fade into the footnotes of history if the other people even bother to jot them down.

Nature abhors a vacumn.

So breed already! Whatsamatta, don't people like kids anymore?

Suppose our parents had taken it that way?

Let the kids do stuff around the farm, work at a real job, they'll learn the value of a hard day's work and grow up better for it.

If they decide to go to college, they'll be more likely to get their money's worth and recognize BS for what it is.

lets have a reality check.
Most of medical research deals with treating or curing different diseases. If that is successful then life expectancy goes up. So now what are the liberals going to do???
We are on the verge of curing cancer. So what now??? This is private research that is beyond the reach of the big pharms and government. How does the obambats socialization of medicine fit in with this new science?????
They have some problems to figure out.....

Joe, I love you said about kids.

You are, without a doubt, the most logically thinking man I’ve met here on Free Republic in many years.

I have heard that you can give everyone alive on earth 1 square foot of land and fit them in the state of Rhode Island - give them 1500 sq. feet and fit them in Texas. Population is not the problem allocation of resources and technologies due to Greed at the highest government levels is! Some of the poorest nations on earth are controled by Marist despots or worse supported by the UN.
