In White House Vs. Fox News War Of Words, Who Gets Your Vote? (NPR UPDATE)
NPR News ^ | November 2, 2009 | Mark Memmott

Posted on 11/02/2009 9:40:58 AM PST by La Lydia

Update at 8:50 a.m. ET, Nov. 2: Another update on the response to this post. As you can see, there are now more than 1.1 million votes on the survey and 2,100 comments with this post. We've also received several hundred e-mails. Here's a representative sample:

-- Chuck Parker: "Conservatives should be allowed to have one Network on their side, that being FOX since the libs have ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC acting as unpaid mouth pieces for Obama."

-- Paul Ingram: "NPR should be more objective instead of being a mouthpiece for the Obama administration, What a great opportunity you have of education and spreading truth to the population , taking neither side in any political dispute. Just the unvarnished facts."

-- Lyn Underdahl: "Fox News provides the opportunity for its listeners to be informed about all the issues. President Obama wants it 'His way or the highway'. Fox News has taken in on the 'high way' by encouraging Americans to get involved in what is being said, what is happening and those in charge who dictate what will become law..."

Many e-mailers wanted to make sure we knew that there had been an online effort, fueled by e-mail chains and blogs, among Fox News fans to "win" the poll. John Plotkin said he had received an e-mail from conservative "friends," urging that he vote in the survey. "If you think your poll results are accurate, think again," Plotkin added. As I noted on Saturday, this isn't a scientific survey. It's an online poll that successfully got folks talking about a very interesting story....

It must really be burning those Marxists on NPR to see one of their precious polls going this way. Too bad Gingrich and the Pubes never had the b*lls to defund this wasteland of totalitarian ideology and commieprop.

Oh please, like the Radical Liberal base hasn't done the same thing, the reality is the same as always, radical libs never amount to more than 20% of the population. They are grossly outnumbered by conservatives and middle americans. Obviously the poll isn't scientific, but claiming conservatives are ruining it is laughable leftist activists are just as busy trying to influence it. Just there aren't as many of them.

The only thing worth watching on PBS is Antiques Roadshow.

If Fox took over that show, I would cease all watching of PBS.

Come to think of it:
P B S should stand for Public Bull Sh$t. It is way slanted Liberal and always was.

Well, this is NPR, but I get your drift. On PBS, I also enjoy Masterpiece Theater, and some of the Nature programs. Right now they are doing a three-part mystery series called “Place of Execution” which is excellent. On the other hand, my usual experience with NPR is that about five minutes into their news programs, something is said that is so biased and condescending and absurd that I have to scan to the Latin music station. The only thing I can listen to all the way through on the three NPR stations where I live is the weekly opera broadcast on WETA.

Okay, I don’t listen to NPR news very much anymore. In fact, I don’t watch Fox News much either. HOWEVER, they have some darn good programs on NPR. From the Top, which is a program that showcases young classical artists, is a lot of fun. Performance Today and, yes, even Car Talk. Even This American Life had a great couple of stories on the health care system that ran nowhere the way I expected a liberal to run.

PBS. . . I can’t comment on PBS anymore. I don’t have a television. I’m too busy. All I know is that when my kids turned on Sesame Street and Elmo showed a picture of two women holding hands with a bunch of kids in front of them while Elmo said, “Family,” I decided that PBS was not allowed for the kids anymore. Unlike me, they can’t judge for themselves what’s BS propaganda and what may be something to consider when looking at an issue.

I’m not arguing that these shows should be publicly funded. I honestly think they should carry their own weight, but I don’t think NPR is just NPR News.

It’s not just FOX anymore.

The Obama administration has now gone after AP and CBS....not reported much though.

We’re putting CBS on notice,” said Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. “It’s basically a question of loyalty. We expect this kind of nonsense
from Fox News. By imitating Fox, though, CBS is undermining its credibility with
the Administration. They need to know that no good can come of such
behavior.”

Emanuel indicated that CBS, like Fox, might be put off limits for Administration
officials. “Access to those inside the Obama Administration is by invitation and
permission only,” Emanuel reminded. “We can’t stop our enemies from
attending events open to the public, but we don’t have to let them into our own
house.”
