Boehner regrets Scozzafava support By: Jake Sherman November 2, 2009 04:04 PM EST

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said today he regrets backing former GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava for New York's 23rd district race.

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans," Boehner said of Scozzafava, who dropped out of the race Saturday. "She was out there promoting herself and we're doing everything we can to help Doug Hoffman in this race and we hope he wins."

Boehner's support of Scozzafava was a gamble. He donated $5,000 to her campaign and threw his weight behind her when some conservative Republicans considered her too liberal for the GOP.

"She'd fit in just fine," Boehner said in early October. "I've contributed to her election, and we're urging all of our members to help bring this race home."

No $***, Sherlock. I could have told you that and I am just a peasant (formerly known as a "citizen" in the US).

Most people in the working world are subject to PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS.....based upon criteria....these people (in Congress) really need to decide what their JOB is....being part of the GIMME GANG....or protecting American Citizens and Freedom...it really is getting down to that. Boehner should have known what the issues here were....or should fire whomever misinformed him!

Sure, he hates her now - - now that she's been exposed as a Liberal who has nothing to do with the Republican values -- now he hates her.

However, he loved her and everything she stood for just a couple weeks ago.

I would say this is an excellent demonstration why we need to clean house on ALL incumbents.

He apologized at least, which is pretty good as politicians go.

Newt hasn’t, not yet.

Bohner is a bonehead.

This week on CNN he was dissing the NY23 race as an aberation (state of the nation show)

He KNEW EXACTLY what she was.

This was his leadership ploye to get more rich people to pay for seats as country club republicans.

I think it is kind of odd that the ones who are supposed to be so darn smart, are overpaid and in power, do not see these things while we, the supposed commoners, have the leftists pegged as soon as they open their mouths.

We must find a way to get rid of these low IQ morons and get some people who value the Country and our Constitution more than the money, perks and power.

I received a plea for money from Michael Steele today. His message told me that the RNC was going to support Conservative candidates for office to defeat the Obama platform.

I put a card in the envelope and said “Conservative candidates like DeDe? Get a Life!

“learn from it” could mean “oh, we have to hide our elitism or we’ll be out of a job”.

I’d prefer they sincerely ditch the elitism as wrongheaded, but that’s just wishful thinking. Worldviews like that die hard.
