The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).
Following release of the House health care plan by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 42% of voters now support the Congressional effort while 54% are opposed.
In October, 37.8% of American adults considered themselves to be Democrats while 31.9% are Republicans. The number of Democrats has been inching up steadily since July.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove. Its sometimes easy to get caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations of the tracking poll and miss the longer-term trend. Rasmussen Reports also compiles the data on a month-by-month basis which shows that the Presidents ratings slipped a bit in October after stabilizing in September.

Can’t we bring the strongly disapproves up to 51 yet? Come on. Confront people. Get in their faces.
“42% of voters now support the Congressional effort while 54% are opposed.”
I do NOT believe the support is that high...this smells...
minus 13,music to my ears.
“that 27% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve”
That is the lowest strongly approve number I have seen for Obama.
I think he dropped to -14 once, but it didn’t last. Needs to go low and stay there.
Every week will be worse from the week before because the House has now come out with essentially the same healthcare bill that was presented when people became scared and angry and started all the town hall protesting. Once Congress ended their break, the numbers reversed because people didn’t have anything to gripe about since the bill was back in re-write (we thought). Hopefully, people will start bugging thier congressmen and senators about voting aginst it. I hope some organization is looking at filing a lawsuit against the government if the healthcare bill passes, which I am sure that it will. Democrats have no cajones to go against their groupthink.
That makes no sense. His approval goes down and more people want to be a Dem?
Obama has lots of money for his next election plus he owns abc, cbs, nbc and cnn. Any Republican running will have to have millions and millions and millions to compete.
I believe the general voting public is dumber than a box of rocks and the press told them it was cool to vote Democrat, so they did.
If the Democrat "brand" can be destroyed and enough believe that it is no longer "cool" to vote RAT, then they'll start voting Republican.
Of course, this is simplifying it but we cannot dismiss the effect of the media being in the tank for RATS.
By late afternoon, I think you can be pretty sure that morning's Daily Presidential Poll has already been posted.
Maybe -13bama will get a clue: working Americans don’t want socialism.
The media simply wants to make a buck on Obama. They do not care where he gets all his money used for political promotion ads. When Obama runs out of cash he will not have anymore influence because the Big media will look for another Obama. Whoever runs against him will need millions to compete. Whoever has negatives will have to spend more money on political ads.
The total approval rate appears to be headed below 45% soon.
