Aborted Fetus Cells Used In Beauty Products
By Valerie Richardson
A San Francisco cosmetics company has ignited an outcry among pro-lifers for including an unexpected ingredient in its anti-aging creams: skin-cell proteins from an aborted fetus.
Children of God for Life, a watchdog group that monitors the use of fetal material in medical products, called last week for a boycott of all treatments manufactured by Neocutis Inc., which acknowledges that the key ingredient in its product line was developed from an aborted boy.
"There's just no excuse for using aborted babies in skin-care products," said Debi Vinnedge, executive director of Children of God for Life, a 10-year-old organization based in Murfreesboro, Tenn. "The reaction, the shock and anger I've seen is incredible."
In a statement released Friday, in response to a wave of condemnation from pro-life and religious blogs, Neocutis defended the use of its trademarked ingredient, Processed Skin Cell Proteins, or PSP, arguing that the fetal cell line was harvested in a responsible, ethical manner for use in treating severe dermatological injuries.

I will not shed a tear for anyone who knowingly uses this product and gets melanoma.
God must, will & is judging America for this.
If anyone is murdered, let’s be sure never to use his organs.
I don’t like to speak of prophecy, but with the crumbling Bay Bridge and a Hayward Fault that is decades overdue for the big one, I would not want to be in California.
Are you seriously comparing organ donation to what boils down to uses aborted tissue for anti wrinkle cream?
How horrifying! Just how sick is the West going to get?
This culture is damned.
I will not shed a tear for anyone ....of its owners, investors, employees, or purchasers of its products if this manufacturing plant is blown to smithereens.
I hear ya. I do live in California but in the Bible-belt part of eastern Madera County. San Francisco is Sodom and will have a similar fate. The judgement is already here. We’re bankrupt.
Find out which Congresscritters/judges are getting kickbacks from these companies, it'll help explain why Roe v. Wade hasn't been overturned.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
What a nation of monsters we have bred.
People without honor are people with no soul.
True...this isn’t “aborted tissue,” nor was it ever part of a living being, unlike the organs of someone murdered. It’s protein...molecules...
No, this was from a non-viable fetus who wouldn’t have lived to full term, so I guess his life is worthless and his body should have just been discarded.
Eh?
Even the idea of doing this, much less attempting to justify it, is monstrous. Even the evil Nazis did not include this in their array of unspeakable barbarism in using the cells of the murdered innocent unborn to be used as beauty products.
"...nor was it ever part of a living being"
vs.
"non-viable fetus who wouldnt have lived to full term"
where "wouldn't have lived" indicates the living had been going on, but was interrupted.
Nice try, though.
Cheers!
“Let Countess Báthory take you away!”
The Nazi’s made lampshade out of human skin, so yeah, they were this barbaric.
I have no words for this travesty.
(it was like a sucker punch to the gut just to read it)
Or the soap from human body fat... or the ‘experiments’ involving replacing the blood of living people with sawdust.
I used a few literary techniques. Irony was one, very good! (though actually, something can have life without being a livinbg being.)
Hint: I played with the age, too.

It’s been rumored for years that cosmetics have been using tissue from aborted fetuses. I heard about it when I was 23 and that’s been 27 years. Especially the products containing collegen. I got physically ill when I was told that and stopped using base/foundation and try very hard to watch ingredients in my moisturizers....Yes, as another poster said, God will, and is judging America.
What would be listed on the ingredience to let us know such things were used?
Bookmarked to read in the morning
deeply saddened ping
Vile. Beyond vile.
I wear Bare minerals. It’s dirt.
Back in 1980 I was an auditor working for an international CPA firm. I was auditing the financial statement of a large hospital when I came upon an account titled “afterbirth income.” I inquired what it was, and it was the sale of the afterbirth for use in cosmetics. I understand it was also sold for medical research purposes. This has been going on for 30+ years and people just didn’t know it.
The only word at that time was collagen. But collagen (from what I understand) can come from many sources. Just to play it safe, I stay away from anything that has that.
thanks
There is no comparison. The person who donates organ/s is making a personal voluntary decision and is not being forced. A fetus has no choice whatsoever. Let’s be real.
Neocutis insists that the cell line used for their product came from a boy who was aborted because he would not have survived to term. As for other cell lines and other products, the article did not say.
Ugh...
Only true if he didn't consent to having them harvested, prior to being murdered.
Yeah, there have been days where I felt kinda dead. :-)
Using afterbirth in cosmetics may not be unethical, but it does sound kinda gross. Thank heavens I don’t wish to be a metrosexual!

Sick: Skincare Company Now Using Aborted Fetal Tissue in Anti-Aging Cream
I can imagine! The part about fetal cells being used to stop polio must have really caught you by surprise, huh?
What are you talking about? The article just states that the company views their actions as equivalent to developing the polio vaccine.
Do you believe the mother of a murdered minor must have the prior consent of the child to allow his organs to be donated to an ill child in need?
I guess not; he’s a minor.
Given the state of our technology, we probably won’t need to use fetal cells, even for that, in the near-future, if not already.
They are using proteins, not fetal cells.
