As they grow older, they increasingly experience mental anguish at having made the to-do abortion decision. Mental anguish can easily transfer or lead to certain treatable mental illnesses.

Oh, please. How do they know, honestly, that it’s the abortion and not the thousands of other things that happen in life? Again, there are many tangible reasons to hate abortion..this is not the argument to hang your hat on because it is so unprovable.

Question is is it women who are prone to mental problems that are having abortions or does the abortion cause the mental problems

“More than 85 percent of women reported negative reactions to their abortions including sorrow, sadness, guilt, regret, grief and disappointment”
Oh, please? Seems like these mental issues would be apropos after aborting.

Abortion does create many mental issues. Check this website out.
It is for women who have experienced stress after an abortion. http://afterabortion.com/

When I was a kid my friend had a well constructed slingshot and I used it to kill a small bird, to this day I feel terrible about it. Now imagine an abortion.

first trimester abortion can also cause breast cancer --> see
hereThat's why some of these heartless beasts have late term abortions...

It’s probably because they have observed women they know who have had an abortion, and seen how their lives have been affected by it.

Several of my women friends had multiple abortions in the ‘70’s... ALL of them have suffered from Depression for decades afterwards. Despite the left’s true religion that “it's only tissue”... a woman's body knows better. Killing the un-born goes against nature and the God of nature.

Girls who have abortions already have some issues..ok? Telling an 18 year old girl not to have an abortion because when she’s 40 she might have some mental issues is meaningless. That’s all I’m saying. It’s just not a good argument against abortion. There are so many good ones..this isn’t one of them..

it’s a ridiculous poll...it’s really the 85% of the 100% of the women who ADMITTED having an abortion, say they had adverse effects. People who still want to talk about their abortions years later probably had many issues to begin with and an abortion is a very convenient thing to blame your problems on. That’s all.

What about the ones that have abortions and then are given another chance and have the baby. What kind of mental issues does that cause. It's not fair that a women who kills her child is then blessed again with one she decides to keep.

Good question and one I’ve wondered many times. It would seem those not as strong to stand up for what they wanted could be more easily convinced to abort than someone who was more balanced and knew what they wanted?
To: julieee
Considerable guilt can weigh heavily on one’s mind.
They need to repent and seek forgiveness for what they did.

I have to disagree on this one. It's not meaningless. How many parents have begged their children not to smoke because they could come down with cancer like Grandma "Rita," or how many parents have begged their kids not to drink because they could end up in a coffin early like Uncle "Mike." I once talked to a 2nd-grade teacher from Chicago and she said she would literally get down on her hands and knees during class and beg the kids not to do drugs when they got older. I asked her about it, and she said, "My hopes are that they will remember their 'odd' teacher begging them on hands and knees and maybe, just maybe, they will re-think their decision and say no to drugs."
Anyway, MY kids know firsthand the depression and sorrow caused from a mom who aborts her beautiful baby. And I don't think any of them, because of it, would ever repeat the error of my ways.
There was a pro-life worker at a Planned Parenthood in IL, that YELLED to a woman going into the "chop-shop," "You will regret your decision. You will never forget it. It will torment you forever." The young girl came and talked to the woman. I don't know the outcome (nor does she), but it was the right thing for the pro-life woman to initially do.
