We eat our own.
We give lavish gifts to our sworn enemies.
If you ever figure it out, clue me in, ok?

She must be granddaughter, I think they had two sons.

After 9/11, maybe they should’ve been turned loose in the Bronx, instead of being held. That probably would’ve solved the problem at much less cost.

Why deport them if they did nothing wrong and had no ties to enemies foreign or domestic?

“The U.S. government will pay $1.26 million to five Muslim men detained for months without charges after the September 11 attacks who sued for unlawful imprisonment and abuse, their lawyers said on Tuesday.”
“The men claimed they suffered inhumane and degrading treatment in a Brooklyn detention center, including solitary confinement, severe beatings, incessant verbal abuse and a blackout on communications with their families and attorneys.”
If all that is true, the Feds violated these men’s Constitutional Rights.
And there is no excuse for denying these men their 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th Amendment Rights.

The other plaintiffs who settled are Ashraf Ibrahim who also now lives in Egypt, Pakistan native Asif-Ur-Rehman Saffi who now lives in France and former Pakistani physician Shakir Baloch who now lives in Canada.
The silver lining in this dark cloud is they are no longer in this country.....for now.

The story does not go into detail as to why they were deported, so I can only assume that they were deported due to a visa violation.
However, it seems that they had not committed any crimes and because of that were not prosecuted.
And yes, in this country even Muslims have Constitutional Rights.

Muslims do indeed have constitutional rights.
Illegal immigrants do not have the right to run freely in this country.
And yes, Al Reuters left out much of the news in this peace.
Abuse is common in our prisons. Allegations of abuse are also common. Guards aren’t necessarily racist in their application of force, they equally abuse all prisoners’ rights. But that is not the gist of this story. It puts forth the notion that only muslim prisoners held without cause or suspicion were abused by evil Americans.
Al Reuters does a journalist diservice by not delving into why they were deported.

We do not know exactly how there were treated, but we do know that they were held eight months without charges, a clear violation of their Constitutional Rights.
