Good Morning!
Hey! If any of yunz wants on or off the ‘Cyber Gumband snap!’ list, let me know!
Good Morning Sneakers.
Thanks to the time change, I am up a couple hours early. :)
Q & R should have a great program today!
prisoner6
Yeah, that’s why I’m up early too! And happy to be reading the good news today (well, except for Hoffman!)
Good morning.
Maybe it’s because it’s so early, but i am somewhat stunned that Hoffman lost.
What was the breakdown?
It IS a good morning! AND my candidate won the Prothonotary’s race in my county so I pretty much am assured I still have a job! He’s a nice guy. I hope he takes his time on the changes though.
I don’t have exact numbers, but when I looked before I went to bed, it was something like 675 Owens and 607 Hoffman, with a write-in vote of about 59 people for scuzzyfava.
Hoffman didn’t win, but I believe it sent a message to the RINOs.
Correction:
Scozzafava was still on the ballot. It wasn’t a write-in.
A VERY GOOD MORNING!
Even the Hoffman race can't get me down. He was really only in the race for a month or so. Then the RINO screwed him, and you know there was probably a pretty heavy union turnout. The only thing that bugs me is that he conceded so soon.
IIRC there are results that won't be tallied until late this morning and there are around 8k absentee ballots that haven't been tallied.
Since the last I saw Hoffman was down only around 4k I think it would have been prudent to play everything out.
prisoner6
Yes, Very good news and I can hardly wait to hear Quinn this morning.
Well, that’s a disappointing result, but not nearly as bad as it was one year ago.
And the NY-23 race did force people to pick a side between being a RINO (Gingrich) and a conservative. Similarly, the zero administration is compelling conservatives to mobilize and re-define their strategies.
Oh my gosh! And it’s a Rose day today too! Can’t wait for the show!
FWIW WTAE-TV here IS saying that the NJ and MD governor wins mean that the president's campaigning there didn't help at all!
prisoner6
Zero definitely gave a big effort in NJ, so he has some egg on his fugly face.
I thought upstate NYers had more sense than that, but one year ago I had more faith in tthe American electorate, and that turned out to be false hope.
There are way too many morons with voting rights.
Can it be...yes it could!
Something’s coming...something GOOD!!”
Sorry, just had to break out in song, as this is the first GLIMMER of hope I’ve seen in a loooong time.
Sneakers-very happy for you!
Your alive!!!!
Let's Hope it leads to Change!
Yunz all know Rose is going to be a happy pup today! prisoner6
Yes, sir!!! And today, happily so!
Thanks! I was too nervous to look last night! Mr S checked it out for me. LOL! We are both breathing easier today!
I am glad! It has been hard, because with mr. karatemom losing his job twice in one year, I have felt despair at times. People with whom I speak truly don’t understand. They think I am crazy because I place the blame for this ecomony squarely at the feet of Democrats. Today, there is a little hope. This momentum must carry thru to Nov 2010-and then to 2012.
Now, for that 2nd cup of Joe, and to the radio for what I am sure will be an EXCELLENT show!
Forgot to link to this... don't know why I found it so funny but I did...
A spoonful of hope might not be the best medicine, according to a new study from a Carnegie Mellon University professor that asserts that optimism can actually be harmful to mental health.
The study, authored by CMU's George Loewenstein and several researchers at the University of Michigan, measured the emotional well-being of patients in two groups: those with permanent colostomies and those with colostomies that might be reversed.

Now if the NEXT study finds that Change is also bad for you, HEHEHEHE!
prisoner6
Hooray! I’m glad your candidate won.
I was disappointed about NY-23, but amazed to wake up and find out that Christie won. Of all the races we were watching, I was least expecting that one to turn out well.
prisoner6
OK, so we pay tons of money to try to get our kids into CMU...
sheesh. Despair is bad for mental health
Loving Quinn!!
Loving NJ.
Loving Virginia.
Spitting on Gingrich’s political grave.
Thanks!
I was disappointed that Hoffman didn’t win too but, all-in-all, last night was a good night! Hoffman didn’t do too badly considering that he was in the race only about a month. I hope he tries again, and starts earlier.
OK, now tell us how you REALLY feel! LOL!!
Yea!!! Glad to hear the good guy won...congratulations :)
Thanks! I’m a very happy camper this morning!
Wow! I can sense the excitement on the board today! These elections were a boost that we all needed! Gives me hope! (In spite of what the CMU study says! lol!)
I can’t wait until the 2010 elections!
BUT...didja hear, on the WPGB news break, Mayor Lukie couldn’t help himself, but he mentioned President Obama thinks Pgh is a wonderful role model for other cities.
Sooooo..I held back until one of the folks tried to give me a hand out. I (loudly) asked "Hmmm...does Ms O'Connell support the President's agenda including healthcare and Cap and Trade?"
SHE WAS FLOORED! She actually staggered backward a few steps so I asked again. This time she stammered " Well...bits and pieces...I guess..."
I shoved the handout back and said "Well then I'm voting for Bloom!" EVERYONE started laughing...except my wife who was trying to get as far away from me as possible, LOL!
That's when a cnadidate for something local ...ahhh I can't recall his name...Doug Johnston I think...approached me, shook my hand and LOUDLY said "Your Gadsden and Sons of LIberty flags are FANTASTIC!" Another older gentleman did hte same thing.
It was MY turn to be floored! I thanked them and said I intend to fly them until The Republic is restored. There was a round of applause from several people!
Trust me this is THE FIRST time anything like that has ever happened in one of my visits to the polls in Crafton!
Inside one of the ladies in my Wife's book club mentioned that she and her family were looking forward to reading "The Christmas Sweater" and thanked me for putting them onto Beck...AND QUINN AND ROSE!
In my neighborhood that is HUGE!
I was annoying Wife by singing "Happy Happy, Joy Joy" on the way home!
prisoner6
It feels sooooo darned-tootin good!
Hey, if you all feel so inclined-please comment on my thread:

Did anyone else watch V last night??? The parallels between the Vs and the Obamabots was stunning. The next three episodes are in the same vein...then hiatus and ABC is supposed to be ‘teakin’ (scrubbing) the story line to make it less Obama critical.
The Vs promised ‘health care for all!’
prisoner6
Wow—that is truly amazing! Sounds like people are beginning to wake up.
I didn’t have quite the same experience at my polling place. I arrived after I got home from work, and there were a few very cold people milling around outside who politely handed me campaign cards.
I had to wait for about 5 minutes before I could vote, which was a little unusual, but I was only #124, which I thought was light for that time of day.
Do you know who won the local Mayoral race? I haven’t heard yet.
Mr. Karatemom watched it-and he said the same thing!
WOW!!!! What a post!
prisoner6
No, I vote at a Presbyterian Church.
Great visual!!! Applause from the poll workers!
So The Won was rocking out, with the First Tweens, at Miley Cyrus!?!?!?
prisoner6
Well...we will know when Barry is trully sunk when Lukie starts to distance himself from the Messiah.
LOL...
prisoner6
Yes Barry!!! STOP right now. Go on vacation; on date nights; do Leno and Letterman weekly...just STOP your damn agenda!!!
prisoner6
well good for you.. what a fun post to read.. Proud of you. Too bad the news was not there to cover you!
Morning everyone..
Our three state issues passed, Various views from the Ohio FReepers on our state board the past weeks & especiallly just before the election. They were not clearly R & D issues.
Our local news is attributing Hoffman’s loss to Rush’s intervention in the effort.... HA..
Hope all are doin well..
prisoner6
OH FOR PETE's SAKE! My station just ran a spot with Hussein telling everyone to get out and volunteer!
