GRAND RAPIDS-- Sarah Palin will be coming to the Woodland Mall Barnes & Noble store in Grand Rapids Nov. 18, her first stop on a tour promoting her book "Going Rogue."
The Associated Press reports Palin's tour will begin the day after the book is released and two days after she is interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.
A local Barnes & Noble spokesperson confirmed Palin will be at the Woodland store at 3670 28th St SE.
Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, will make appearances around the country.
HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Wednesday that the tour will run through at least Dec. 6, and that Palin will travel for part of it by bus.
"Going Rogue" has an announced first printing of 1.5 million copies and has been at or near the top of Amazon.com's best-seller list for weeks.
Palin was in Grand Rapids in September 2008 for a rally with Sen. John McCain.
Palin won't be the only former candidate visiting the city this month.
One-time Republican candidate Mike Huckabee is starting a 60-city bus tour promoting his book, "A Simple Christmas." He'll be at Schuler Books, 2660 28th St. SE, one day earlier on Nov. 17.
Sarah is going back to the state that McCain abandoned. I think she is sending a special FU message to the McCain campaign. You are SO lucky you will get to meet her. So far she is not coming to my state :(
Why would she want to be interviewed by Oprah?
Do you have a link to her tour schedule?
I’d like to see her but I’m sure it will be a mob situation.
No..but appearances are popping up on Conservatives4Palin so they seem to be popping up here and there. I think an entire schedule will be released very soon. It’s a shame she won’t be coming here to LA. According to the publisher, since Sarah is unconventional, she will have an unconventional schedule. Maybe she will change her mind and come here. Seems to me like she is hitting all the battleground states..Hey California went red once, it can happen again(Wishful thinking!)
Yeah, is she coming to Albuquerque?
I’m hoping a ticket will be required. I wouldn’t mind buying the book there if it guaranteed getting her John Hancock on it!
I agree!!!
See you in line!
No Freaking Way!!!!!!
Aww crap, I have to work that day. :^(
I will be there! Sarah was HUGELY popular in West Michigan.
I might, as well. I wonder how many freepers will be there. :)
Yes, she will make a stop in Albuquerque. No date, time or location yet:

Clear message there!
Publicity? Her publisher is scheduling for her... she sure has a say (she certainly won’t go on Letterman i.e.), but the publisher would want her to reach the largest possible audience. Oprah (alas) is being watched by millions of women.
Can someone please post the poll at http://www.abcnews.go.com. Its a 2012 presidential poll with Palin, Gingerich, Pawlenty, and Romney.
Please vote. It’s in the right sidebar under the advertisement box.
And someone who knows how to post here at FR, please do so.
Thanks.

An American Life

large print ppbk
abridged CD audiobook
If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
The reason why I ask is that most author book tours (even for the relatively few "conservative" authors) concentrate on major metro areas.
I don’t think millions of women are watching Oprah anymore.
JS, Sarah is just being unconventional. I think she realizes that Michigan is reeling economically under Demon policies, and the Grand Rapids area has a lot of conservatives, churches, etc.
Maybe she is trying to give such areas a boost. She has said that she will be visiting non traditional places on her book tour.
You’re right, usually the major metros are the intial book signing venues, then transitioning to smaller ones. With 1.5 million presold books, maybe that doesn;t matter as much to the publishers.
She is just “going rogue”.
NOVEMBER 18 GET READY FOR BATTLE THE LEFT WING SCUM WILL BE THERE
Grand Rapids isn't far from Chicago and is her first stop after her appearance on Oprah's show. The region is fairly conservative and a lot more economically stable than the eastern side of the state.
I'm thrilled she's making Michigan her first stop. She wanted to come back to campaign after McCain pulled out, and we can use the emotional boost. I'll be taking my daughter out of school to meet her!
What? No Dallas/Ft. Worth?
One of her complaints with the McCain campaign was that they should have continued to campaign Michigan. The state includes a significant voter block of conservative votes.
Turnout.
Also, Grand Rapids is (hard to believe, I know) one of the top 100 markets in the US, and the metro area has grown as Detroit (and former population rival Flint) has shrunk. It’s spilled over into Ottawa County, and northward into the commuter corridor of US-131, due to all the small lakes in those counties (lots of Boomers are crazy for waterfront; also don’t want to live or send their kids to school in the city where they work).
Feet-wet factor — she’s used to public appearances, but a book tour is different.
