Democrats say elections won't stop health care

WASHINGTON — Far from chastened by off-year election setbacks, congressional Democrats vowed no let-up in the drive to pass controversial health care Wednesday, arguing that the way to regain voter trust was to complete what they started in more prosperous political times.

Any suggestion that "we ought to run like scalded dogs from trying to fix health care for this country is wrong. I believe the judgment might be more punishing if we throw in the towel because it's difficult," said North Dakota Rep. Earl Pomeroy, a political moderate and supporter of the legislation.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi hopes to have legislation on the House floor for a vote on Saturday. There is no timetable in the Senate, where the overhaul's ultimate fate is in considerably more doubt, but supporters gave no indication that the election results had complicated the challenge facing Majority Leader Harry Reid.

That is because obamacare was effectively dead even before the elections. The elections were just a dance on the grave.

Might this not be a mistake? I can’t imagine the rank and file aren’t skitterish about their reelection chances.

Unless, of course, they’re bribed with “stimulus” money.

No, let these commies go ahead and try to get it through. The won’t succeed anyway and they’ll get their butts kicked next Nov. America’s flirtation with Marxism is over.

I was losing so much sleep over this. Restless nights, etc. I was so worried. I was thinking every way possible to scam it. But, this last bill, 1990 pages, the absurdity of it, is resounding throughout the country. Congress is looking more and more like the joke it is to the average Americans. Even if it would pass, the American people will never accept it. It’s dead, and the marxist party is trying their hardest to keep it alive. We will never accept it, they know it. The protests will be worse if they pass it. This is the biggest joke in the history of our country. The only ones pushing it now are the fringe.

Canines of a certain color and large African mammals with big horns might think otherwise.

Meanwhile, the "voters" are having to cut back on expenditures in their own households due to the economy. Out of touch and tone deaf. The left overreached with this incompetent rube of a President, and it will cost them today, tomorrow, in 2010, and in 2012.

The Marxists recognize that this may be their only opportunity to go against the overwhelming will of the people to force socialism on them. There is no substance in the urgency for health care. There is less than no substance for oppressing the people with burdensome taxes and giving up our sovereignty for climate change. Mankind has no control over the climate.

Why would the Democrats stop pushing on 0bamacare? They picked up 1 House seat with a candidate who is for 0bamacare.

I believe the one of the first one to realize it was time to “run like scalded dogs from trying to fix health care for this country” was the dimowits own Senator Reid.
