Gingrich on NY-23: Conservatives have every right to be angry at me (with video)
Hot Air ^ | Nov. 4, 2009 | Allahpundit

People are buzzing about this online but I’m not sure why. “I regret deeply that she was chosen,” he says of Scozzafava in an apparent reversal of his prior support. Except it’s not a reversal: He admitted to Andrew Wilkow way back on October 21 that she’s not the person he would have nominated. His endorsement was always strategic, to support Republican leaders at the local level and dissuade third-party challenges next year.

Why Republicans in a district where there’s no primary should defer to party leaders instead of rallying behind their preferred candidate is a question left unanswered, but that may be because it’s unasked. Ah well.

Don’t buy the serial divorcee and adulterer’s confessions. He lied to his 4 wives - he will lie to you.

Go to h*ll Newt. We needed NY-23 and people like you caused us to lose it.

I just received a recorded call from Newt with a one question push poll. His message was that he was “deeply” (I'm getting tired of him using that focus group tested word) troubled by the Obama big government agenda and wanted me to contribute to a media campaign to stop this. WHen the person came on the line to ask me if I agreed with Newt I let her know that her organization needed to get a different spokesman. I told her that I am not giving a dime to any organization that Newt is fronting because is completely disingenuous. I told her that when Newt endorsed Scozzafava he endorsed a big government, and the same kind of tax and spend politician he was asking my money to fight, so he didn't live up to his own message. I further told her that Newt put party and self interest ahead of the country and that put me off anything he was trying to do.

Anybody hear Tom Davis (former GOP Senator from Virginia; former NRCC chair) on Ingraham this morning? It was some major condescending sh*t he was pushing. Among other gems, he said that Tea Party goers are not “politically sophisticated” and implied that they are “uninformed.”

Kudos for Laura for going off on him for his asinine comments.

They still don’t get it.

Newt was the Speaker, ok that’s one. He came up with Contract with America and won a bunch of seats, that’s 2. What’s he done since? Where did everyone come to the conclusion he was the brains behind the RNC?

He hasn’t won anything lately, other than contracts to bloviate on Fox News.

There is no way we can reverse course and elect leaders who support Conservative principles by endorsing liberals. If that’s too hard for Newt to understand, maybe we know the reason he hasn’t won anything in a long long time.

Hello,

LOL, I got the same call on Sat morning, just 10 minutes before the news broke that the RINO had dropped out. I told them the same thing, and added that Newt was on the wrong side of history and to take my name and number off their list.

We know him far too well.

Newt was also the guy who WJ Clinton played like a cheap fiddle and he had to keep his mouth shut during the Lewinsky scandal because he was also having an affair at the time. Why Hannity continues to prop this fool up is beyond me.

Ross Perot, who is hated by many here, was admonished for saying he’d fire anyone he knew was cheating on his wife. He was asked about it in an interview and his reply was “If your wife can’t trust you how can I trust you?”

I also heard the story of him taking some employees to Luby’s where he was going to announce one of the employee’s promotion. Going throught the line Perot saw the guy hide a few pats of butter under his plate. Instead of a promotion Perot fired him.

"I have had my bellyful of Newt."

Newt is the poster child for "Party uber Alles" politicians. He is one of those who have too much invested in the status quo of the political system does not see Washington DC as the problem. He can no longer differentiate between America and the government apparatus.

Hannity is a motor mouth. I wish someone would figure the average amount of time his callers get to talk before he starts talking over them then goes to the next caller. I can’t stand to listen to him. And with nose up Newt’s butt...that makes it even worse. Talk about elitism.

They get it. Most the people of this country are uninformed, uninvolved or unsophisticated. Those people stayed home Tuesday and have a better than 50% chance of swallowing any amount of crap these people can legislatively stuff into a sandwich. Although they govern said robots, it’s us active/voting citizens they have to answer to.
They still believe in this moderate middle mumbo jumbo.
I am so sick and tired of the gushy melon headed “middle” that from now on I vote conservative. If that means we lose and the rats destroy this country than so be it! I have tried compromising and it got me nowhere over and over again. I would rather go down a patriot conservative than suffer the slow rotting death as a “moderate’.

Newt can go sell insurance, he. seams to be good only for calculating risk any way.

Rant/off

Why Hannity continues to prop this fool up is beyond me.

Sean is cruising very close to permanently damaging his credibility with the public by continuing to align himself with Newt as closely as he has.

He said on his show today that he'd gotten a ton of negative email about "his buddy, Newt". He had Newt on the show today, to give him a chance to explain himself. Newt came on and blew a golden opportunity to get back into our good graces. A lot of people were waiting for this moment, and Newt did not come right out and say that he made a huge mistake, like he should have.

Today's Hannity show may have been Newt's last opportunity to save himself, but he chose to be right, instead of truthful. That's a bigger mistake than the first one, and has now compounded the mistrust we feel toward him.

He's now left Hannity in the unenviable position of having to clip his connections to him, or to his audience and the building patriot revolution.

Sean will write his own ticket to obscurity if he chooses wrongly. It would be sad to see. He's a good guy, and has been one of conservatism's most vocal crusaders for a long time now. I hope he chooses wisely.

Yeah I heard him, Laura was great she didn’t let it slide; “as compared to who” she asked. Davis had no response. “er.agh if I could finish.” is all he could say.

Politicians are like restaurant owners; the reason most restaurants fold is because the owners who handle a lot of money day to day forget that less than 10% of it is theirs.
Politicians govern thousands, tens of thousands, or millions of people but once in office they forget that only a those people actually elect them to office.
30 years as a chef, I’ve worked for too many stupid restaurant owners.

Newt was the Speaker, ok that’s one. He came up with Contract with America and won a bunch of seats, that’s 2. What’s he done since?

After ousting Jim Wright over a shady book deal to claim the Speaker position, Newt was accused of a shady PAC deal in retaliation. That's -1.

In order to cover the costs of an ethics fine resulting from a shady PAC, Gingrich borrows $300,000 from Sen. Bob Dole in a sweetheart deal. That's -2.
