Al Gore wants us to eat our greens

Thursday, November 05, 2009 » 09:32am

Climate change campaigner Al Gore wants us to turn vegetarian to help combat global warming.

We've always been told to eat our greens, but now there's another incentive, saving the planet.

Climate change campaigner Al Gore believes turning vegetarian could aid the battle against global warming.

But he's stopped short of asking everyone to turn their back on meat, acknowledging getting a global agreement on fighting climate change is already hard enough.

The former US vice-president turned environmental campaigner said on Wednesday he agreed with the UK's Nicholas Stern that meat eaters have contributed greatly to increased global carbon emissions.

Al Gore is on a roll. I wonder if he will become a vegetarian himself. More likely, he will buy his steak dinner with his ample carbon credits.:-)

I'm telling you folks, losing in 2001 did something to algore...and I sincerely - with all my heart - believe he is mentally unstable.

If you remember, he became a recluse after the election, then grew a beard, shaved it off, tried his stint as a college professor and then just dropped out of sight until he discovered "global warming".

You can just watch him speak and answer questions and see what a preprogrammed idiot he actually is. He's the nutjob I would cross the street to avoid dealing with in NYC.

A famed reactionary, I'll bet he never even thought about estolling the virtues of "vegetarianism" until GB busted his chops, er...I mean "stalks", the other night on TV.

He is as phoney as a $3 bill and as transparent as saran wrap...his jet, limo's, SUV's, and multiple homes are belching out CO2 and polluting the environment and it's "OK" as long as he buys "carbon credits". No matter how you cut that, it comes out as a Chicago protection racket...i.e. you pay us money, we won't bomb your store. You buy carbon credits, we won't accuse you of being a polluter.

I think this whole dang global warming scheme is a payback plan for the 2001 election loss...or because the dems got caught trying to cheat at chads.

I'm telling you folks, algore is a mental case...cuckoo's nest.

The same thing happened to Jimmy Carter, albeit at a slower pace. These people cannot get over their losses, and try their best to get even, one way or another, in a destructive way.

I’ve long thought the exact same thing.

I saw the 60 minutes piece on him (I know, I know).

That sealed the deal for me. His family gave him a computer to play with the way people used to get kits to make wallets or belts.

He started messing around with it and at some point, “An Inconvenient Truth: The Powerpoint Presentation” was born. The rest is, as they say, history.

But when you saw the wife and daughter gathered around him, you could tell that they thought he was that close to getting carried off by those nice young man in their clean white suits.

Yes, but he wants US to. That is the way these guys think. Any sacrifice is worth their goal, as long as they aren’t doing the sacrificing, and we are.

But if all people go vegan, we'll be eating tons more plants and no animals. And plants consume CO2, while animals expel it.

So Gore's utopia would actually result in more CO2 hanging around in the atmosphere.

Logic is not the forte of tree-hugging hippy liberals, is it?

Ya know with GW we will have so much more growing time for all kinds of vegetation.
So much, that we can feed plenty of it to animals.
Animals are made of meat.

There you go Al, the circle is complete. More CO2, more heat, more veggies, more meat.

Well you gotta remember cows are herbivores. Sugar and corn syrup doesn’t come from delicious chickens or pigs either.

Hell, Al Gore can come to my house and eat anything “green” in my refrigerator.

Let’s see. I have green “cream cheese”, green hot dogs and bologna, green baked beans, green bread, green milk, and green Beef Loh Mein.

Come on in Al, and chow down like a veggie hog.

This I’ve got to see.

PS Al: I heard your father speak when he was in the Senate, and his introductory remarks could put an elephant to sleep.

You just scare me.

Yeah hundred dollar a pound steak for him , you can live on fava beans.

“””’It’s absolutely correct that the growing meat intensity of diets around the world is one of the issues connected to this global crisis - not only because of the CO2 involved, but also because of the water consumed in the process.””””

Mean while they deny water to farmers in California because of a fish. So lets see meat farming = bad fruit/nut/vegetable farming not worth so much as a smelt.hmmmm

Hey just think of how much co2 they would save if the made it so you could only buy beans/grains/greens with food stamps . Hey Al why don’t you start with the food stamp program as a trial run on this , that should go over well *snickers*

We would be raising less animals for food, and therefore there would be less animals eating plants. To compare the total amount of plants consumed, you would need to know the relative efficiency of us eating plants directly vs us eating animals that eat plants. If we were able to feed ourselves using less plant matter than we currently do, we could turn some amount of farm land to other uses, for example it is possible that planting trees instead of corn would result in lower CO2 levels.

Not saying that we should go veggiterrorist (though to be honest we probably eat more meat these days than we should, as it is so easy to get), or that CO2 has anything to do with climate “change”, or that we should even try to do anything about it. Just pointing out that your logic is kinda weak.
