I think his first shoutout was to a veteran in the audience and then he thanked his cabinet and other staff. The whole tone was light...completely at odds with what one would expect given the tragic events at Ft. Hood. Then he moved into comments about Ft. Hood and, as others have pointed out, he seemed to lack any emotion about it. It was definitely odd.
It was a very disgusting moment. Someone should make sure to save the video of that speech. Much was made of Bush’s hesitation on 9/11, and this jerk-off gave a blooming ‘shout-out’ for God’s sake before mentioning the situation at Ft. Hood!

Maybe not on the mainstream but there are copies out there. He certainly wasn’t a Commander in Chief who was too upset about deaths of REAL people.

Aside from his “shout outs”, why does he have to have a script to speak about the tragedy that happened? I realize he has no heart, maybe that’s why he can never speak from it...?
