Military officials say the suspected shooter at Fort Hood was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to the Texas base in July. The officials had access to Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's military record. They said he received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because military records are confidential.
The Virginia-born soldier was single with no children. He was 39 years old.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. At Walter Reed, he did his internship, residency and a fellowship.

Lord, no one shoots anyone in the military for a bad evaluation. It happens sometimes and I have never heard of this happening.
Wow...this Col. that Shep is interviewing right now knew the shooter and has said a lot...including that the shooter was royally ticked off that Obama wasn’t bringing the troops home...that we shouldn’t be over there anyway.
Bookmark for later.
I pray for his safety. What a great interview! God Bless you Col Lee!!!
Yes, but concerned if it was totally legit. I hope they really vetted their source.
You must have missed the part where the Colonel said the Major felt that the Muslim convert in Arkansas who killed the military recruiters was justified and maybe more Muslims should do the same.
Mormon?? Luthern?? Roman Catholic??
I KNEW IT! Has something to do with Bozo’s indeciseveness on Afghanistan. Now look for Bozo to deny the request for additional troops.
Single - 39 - biochemistry - Muslim....great combo
Think this Muslim had BIGGER ISSUES?
What are the names of theo other TWO gunnmen?
There is a concerted effort by the media to portray him as a disgruntled soldier who was chapped that he was being deployed.
BS!!! This was JIHAD!!!
I don’t mean to be cold but he obviously didn’t get a poor evaluation in marksmanship. I think this is the start of story that he was a lone nut. He was upset about the war, blah, blah, blah. Well, all mussies are upset about the war!
That is very interesting - I wonder if he was born with that name or was a convert.
Was he a Muslim? Did he change his name?
Hell, we now know more about Hassan than we do Hussein
Wonder why he got promoted in May if he had a bad eval.
Maybe they are scrambling to come up with anything that would take the spotlight off Muslim and Jihad?
