Hasan Was ‘Mortified’ About Deployment to War (NY Slimes Begins the Whitewash)
New York Times ^ | Nov 5, 2009 | James Dao

WASHINGTON — Born and reared in Virginia, the son of immigrant parents from a small town near Jerusalem, he joined the Army right out of high school, against his parents’ wishes. The Army, in turn, put him through college and then medical school, where he trained to be a psychiatrist.

But Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the 39-year-old man accused of Thursday’s mass shooting at Fort Hood, Tex., started having second thoughts about his military career a few years ago after other soldiers harassed him for being a Muslim, he told relatives in Virginia.

The Associated Press, quoted federal law enforcement officials saying Major Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that mentioned suicide bombings and other threats.

But Nader Hasan, 40, a lawyer living in Northern Virginia, described his cousin as a respectful, hard-working man who had devoted himself to his parents and his career.

He said his cousin had been a practicing Muslim who had become more devout after the deaths of his parents, in 1998 and 2001. But he said he had not expressed anti-American views or radical ideas.

So the NYTimes and this terrorist feel fine with killing Americans? Just not terrorists in Iraq? Glad they straightened that out.

Why didn’t he just retire. I would think that would be what a decent and normal person would do.

The spin only took a couple hours to begin
-Mental problems,
-Teased by other soldiers
-Conscientious objector forced into a Bush war.
it was Ft Hood and America’s fault not his. /s

Odd. I don’t recall this sort of empathetic tone in the NYT about the guy who shot the abortion doctor.

And the New York Times wonders why it's only useful function these days is as toilet paper.

I want to go sit outside the unemployment office these people will go to so I can laugh as they all trudge in to collect their unemployment checks.

“His parents didn’t want him to go into the military,” Mr. Hasan said. “He said, ‘No, I was born and raised here, I’m going to do my duty to the country.’ ”

BS. He got his entire education paid for, including medical school. Then he chose a specialty (psychiatry) where he thought the odds were good he wouldn't be deployed.

The Times is floating a little trial balloon here to see how people react to the classic "oh, he was oppressed" crapola. Here is a guy who owed everything he was professionally to the military and the taxpayer, an MD, a member of society's elite. He wasn't oppressed, he was privileged, and this simpering fool of a reporter is about to find out just how badly that sort of garbage is going to play.

That report has been denied by his coworker tonight, the coworker said the OPPOSITE was true, that it was Hasan who did all trash talking...and because he was a Major, no one would have spoken to him that way...who knows. I sure some lib lawyer will be defending him in no time.

All this time in the military and he had no idea war was hell.

The damned bloody coward. Glad he lives to face the consequences of his ugly act.

“He said his cousin had been a practicing Muslim who had become more devout after the deaths of his parents, in 1998 and 2001. But he said he had not expressed anti-American views or radical ideas.”

This always wins me friends when I express it, but...

I believe it is utterly impossible to be a devout Muslim and at the same time believe in the rights that the BOR/Constitution grant us; i.e., be a freedom loving American. The Muslim faith is by its very nature “anti-American” and “radical.” Much like admiring our Founding Fathers and Karl Marx at the same...they’re diametrically opposed.

I guess I should have made that, “ We are sure to get an ear-full about this, from his defense layers.” True. It is just so much BS.

“He said his cousin had been a practicing Muslim who had become more devout after the deaths of his parents, in 1998 and 2001.”

Conveniently sandwhiched in between the events of 9/11.

I hate the NYT with the intensity of a thousand suns.

Of COURSE he was MORTIFIED!!! He was a DEVOUT MUSLIM!!!!

Devout Muslims DON'T fight other Muslims for Infidels!!!!

Its in the Koran!!!! Its what they believe. Just like they believe Muslims who convert to another reason have to be killed, people who try to convert Muslims to other religions should be killed, the World is a stage for a continuing war between Muslims and Infidels, Muslims must rule Infidels and convert them, dancing is evil, pictures and images of people are evil, dogs are unclean, pork is unclean, liquor is taboo and women should be treated like property.

WHEN ARE AMERICANS GOING TO WAKE UP????

All we have to do is look at Western Europe. We should get these creatures OUT of here - every last Mothers’ son of them before they kill or convert us all.
