Soft Tissue Fossilization (Evidence of Sudden, Extensive Destruction of Life as Per Genesis)
AiG ^ | November 4, 2009 | Vera Everett

Fossilization occurs rapidly when the conditions are right. The conditions necessary for lithification of soft tissue give clues to unlock the history of a fossil deposit. Experiments show that microbes are involved in the mineralization of soft tissue. By decaying flesh they affect the acidity of the environment and release ions necessary for its mineralization. Fossilization in apatite seems to require associated death and decay. In the Jurassic Oxford Clay Formation in England, apatite preserved the soft tissue of many squid-like animals, probably after a mass mortality event occurred in a zone of already high phosphate levels from decaying carcasses. Apatite has also preserved gelatinous embryonic cells that deteriorate in hours. The presence of these microscopic fossils in mud rock gives clues about the conditions in which the sediments were deposited and lithified. Broken shells and sand grains found in shale, which contain soft tissue fossilized in illite, have led some researchers to conclude that the creatures were buried quickly in pulses of a dense mud flow. Soft tissue fossilization points to unusual conditions, conditions that are what would be expected in the sudden, extensive destruction of life, as recorded in the Genesis account of the worldwide Flood...

“So you are saying that the scientific method is not based on beliefs or assumptions?”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2379629/replies?c=16

Someone who doesn’t even know the most basic tenants of the scientific method is denigrating science?

UNBELIEVABLE!

He a Leftist plant!

That’s like someone who has never even read John 3:16 denigrating Christianity.

What effect, if any, does the authors flawed description of the lithification and fossilization processes have on the credibility of his conclusions?

What you did not know there are two different floods described in Genesis? Ever read Genesis 1:2, that was way before any flesh humans were ever created. Or Jeremiah 4:22-27 and IIPeter 3:6 are not talking about Noah’s flood.

I’m starting to think that it is YOU who are a Leftist plant, which is only heightened by your abject ignorance of the ASSUMPTIONS that science is based on. But now we know your ignorance is willful, as is so often the case with leftist evo-atheists, as I have explained and linked these assumptions for you multiple times now.

ONCE AGAIN, here is but a partial list of the assumptions that science is based on. Be sure to share it with your pals over at DU:

You know nothing about me, yet you are assuming I am an evolutionist.

You again base your assumptions on ignorance.

Fossilization (soft tissue)can certainly occur with a human life time, just look at some of the comments!

But returning to more worthwhile subjects, in following the article's references, #24, I came across this interesting link that describes different kinds of chemical reactions according to the organ being fossilized:

“SOFT-TISSUE PRESERVATION IN MIOCENE FROGS FROM LIBROS, SPAIN: INSIGHTS INTO THE GENESIS OF DECAY MICROENVIRONMENTS

5 Museo Geominero, Instituto Geológico y Minero de España, C/ Ríos Rosas, 23, E-28003, Madrid, Spain maria.mcnamara1@ucd.ie
The Late Miocene Libros biota is a lacustrine-hosted, Konservat-Lagerstätte from Libros, near Teruel in northeast Spain. Adult frogs are characterized by the preservation of their soft tissues, some in histological detail. The soft tissues of the body outline are preserved as a layered structure, which comprises a central carbonaceous bacterial biofilm enveloped by the phosphatized remains of the mid-dermal Eberth-Katschenko layer, external to which is a second, thinner, carbonaceous bacterial biofilm. Bacterial autolithification is restricted to limited phosphatization of the cell margins of bacteria adjacent to phosphatized dermis. Phosphatization occurred during the late stages of decay; phosphate was sourced primarily from the dermis itself. Other tissues and organs are also defined in authigenic minerals: nervous tissue (aragonite), the stomach (calcium phosphate), and collagen fibers of the dermal stratum compactum (calcium sulphate); bone marrow is organically preserved. The disparate modes of soft-tissue preservation within individual specimens reflects development of several highly localized, chemically distinct microenvironments within the frog carcasses during decay. These microenvironments correspond to individual organs and tissues, were established at different times during decay, and varied in their duration. The preservation of soft tissues via multiple taphonomic pathways was controlled ultimately by anatomical and physiological factors.”

Note the second sentence, some preservation at the microscopic level. Decay and preservation appear to parts of the same process.

I hope I’m not being too insensitive here, but your cat’s chances of being preserved as a fossil would have gone way up if she had been washed away by a global deluge after being hit by that car :o)

I feel your pain!!! Therefore I am, free of any charge to you, sending you my favorite cat. She is lovable and quite pregnant, both conditions come and go on a regular basis so you'll never be alone again.
I'll leave the naming of her to you and, yes, we know where you are so don't try to say you don't have room. Your room will do just fine! Thanks a million!

I'm still wondering why you think I'm an evolutionist.

It's interesting though, and shows how easily you lead yourself to an unfounded conclusions.

I imagine your threads are strewn with much the same.

Talk about unfounded conclusions! You come in from out of nowhere, start issuing insults, call me a Lefty plant, and imply that I am not a Christian...and we have NEVER MET BEFORE! That is a sure sign of Leftist, mentally unstable, evo-atheist behavior. As I said before, be sure to laugh and point at your anti-science, evo-atheist, Left Wingnuts over at DU for me.
