At least eight people were injured in a mass shooting inside a downtown Orlando high-rise just before noon Friday, according to the Orlando Fire Department.According to Orlando Fire Department District Chief Michael Droege, an unknown number of people are still in the building and could be injured. He said the SWAT team is still trying to pull people out of the building.WESH 2 reporter Gail Paschall-Brown, who is at the scene on the ground, said that 15 employees came out of the building very distraught. Paschall-Brown spoke with one who said that a former employee came into the office who hadn't worked at the company in over a year.
At least six ambulances and dozens of police cars and fire engines have arrived at the scene.
Orlando Fire Department spokeswoman Vicky Robles said a shooter has not been taken into custody.

No, last time it was a Muslim, this time it’s a Cuban or Mexican (maybe, by the name Rodriguez and the way he looked) and before that it was a white guy (McVeigh, blowing up some building) and next time it’s liable to be a Chinese or Japanese guy.

After the Va Tech shootings we were told that it was a bad idea to arm students because they didn’t have the discipline and training to handle a weapon. So what’s the excuse for a bunch of unarmed Army people getting shot up?

Do certain schools produce or encourage those kinds of killers — in addition to the killers being basically unstable or following an evil religion?
VT has a lot of international students. They tend to do this stuff
Who knows. Va Tech is a huge school, and I assume it’s just a coincidence. Possibly Hasan paid more attention to the Va Tech story because he was an alumm and maybe subconsciously internalized some sort of identification/sympathy with Cho (who also regarded himself as unfairly mistreated). But probably just a coincidence (that’s got Va Tech faculty/staff/students cringing big time).
