House Democrats have cleared an impasse over abortion that has been holding up a vote on sweeping health care legislation.
A vote is expected on Saturday - after President Barack Obama makes a late morning trip to the Capitol to make one final pitch for the legislation.
According to Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, he and other abortion opponents will be given a chance to insert tougher abortion restrictions into the legislation during debate on the House floor.
The leadership hopes that no matter how that vote turns out, Democrats will then unite to give the health care bill a majority over unanimous Republican opposition.

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Democrats have cleared an impasse over abortion that has been holding up a vote on sweeping health care legislation.

Spin, lies, propaganda, and wishful thinking.
More AP jive.
And they will own it. Along with 5-year prison terms and $250,000 fines for not buying insurance. It should be wrapped around the neck of every single representative that votes for it next November.

Liberal laws, political correctness, Democrats, RINOs, Saudi money, corrupt judges, CAIR, Muslim Brotherhood, liberal media, spinless joint chiefs, et al mudered those troops yesterday.
The Democrats are the party of corruption and Islam.
I don't know about anyone else but I plan to thumb my nose at any of this. I don't how yet but I am an American and won't be stepped on by by a African Muslim.
Never believe for one second that the Democrats will allow anything with real anti-abortion teeth into their Final Solution for the American People.
Mark Schauer(D) Michigan better reserve your moving truck because you will be coming back to Michigan a private citizen after 2010, you fricking rat a**hole.

Stupak Amendment Proffered To Rules Committee [Robert Costa]
Pro-life Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan is presenting his amendment to the Rules Committee now. “We wish to maintain current law,” he says, referencing the Hyde amendment. “It is not the time to rewrite policy.” There will now be much debate within both parties about what kind of deal, if any, that Stupak made and whether insurers will be able to find ways to get around the amendment’s legislative language.
They’ll all be looking for jobs soon, those Bucking Fastards.
Keep up the pressure. This thing is so close to failure :-) - just a few here and a few there and pretty soon we’ll have 41 dems opposed.
Oh and.. What’s the difference between a pro-socialized healthcare Democrat and a suicide bomber?
Nothing.
So, they’re already thinking of ways to make it obsolete with loopholes around the Hyde amendment.
In either case you could wind up dead.
I think we need to start referring to this as the Democrats “Final Solution of the American Question”
This letter is published to advise the federal government in Washington D.C. that this SOVEREIGN AMERICAN will NOT submit to the marxist/communist coup currently taking place in Washington, D.C., and will ACTIVELY OPPOSE IT.
This SOVEREIGN AMERICAN will IGNORE any laws, rules or regulations that come from Washington D.C. that further restrict the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of individuals, and will in the future IGNORE any PREVIOUS, UNConstitutional laws, rules or regulations that have restricted the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of individuals in this country.
Further, this SOVEREIGN AMERICAN will encourage others to ignore any laws, rules or regulations that restrict the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of any individual in this country.
Whether the laws relate to "health insurance mandates", gun laws, environmental law or any other "law" that restricts INDIVIDUAL Americans from utilizing their own personal property, or that restricts what we can eat, or how much, what we can drink, what type of toilet we are "required" to have, what we can or cannot say, what we can think, how we must provide "service" to ANYONE, how much we can donate to our favorite charities, who we can associate with, I'm here to tell you to take all your "demands," your "laws, rules and regulations" and print them out, then fold the printout until it is all sharp corners AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR COLLECTIVE ASSES! I WILL NOT COMPLY!
Toward FREEDOM!
They must think their vote fraud machine will be in tip top order a year from now.
Voting the dead or those who’ve moved away and won’t screw up the records by ‘voting twice’ on absentee ballots, hacking into voting machines etc.
It is sad that has come to this again. Too many lost blood in the cause of liberty only for it to come to this. I don’t understand it.

Obama can't condemn one of his muslim brothers. It would be against his nature. This guy is dangerous. Make no mistake.
The abortion is the Bill itself, not the bogus concern about abortion funding.
Nonsense.
Remember it still has to pass the Senate. I truly believe this will be the issue that will decimate the Democrats in 2010. I am actually glad they passed it in the House. It will motivate conservative voters more and more to get out and vote these bums out.
We already have 70. This is just noise.
So which rinos are voting for this bill ?
Just to make sure I understand you. You are saying that we already have 70 dem votes opposing the house healthcare bill?
It still has to go to the Senate..right?
So is all this talk about a Tuesday vote just a misdirection play? If so, Seems like Queen Nancy is taking full advantage of the nation's Ft. Hood distraction to sneak this in.
Yes.

And if you think the abortion number is going to change anything without the other side making up for the change or worse, you’ve got another thing coming.
This has been at an impasse for months and that hasn’t changed and isn’t going to change.
There will be no Saturday vote unless the leadership feels like being embarrassed on the floor.
The American people voted for this on Nov. 4, 2008, and they have no one to blame but their silly, greedy selves.
I doubt that any amendment on abortion would be accepted by the far left. This is still dead.
Kill the Bill!
Wouldn’t it be interesting if a dozen GOP votes made the difference for passage? Wouldn’t surprise me.
Stop blaming people and start trying to convince them. If you don’t do that, you’re part of the problem and not part of the solution.
He’s not dangerous to the American people. They truly believe he is “protecting” their “peace and safety”.
I'm continuing to pray:-)
Pelosi and Obama have a lot of *tools* at their disposal to change minds. I so want you to be correct about this. I can think of nothing more wonderful than having this house bill killed this weekend!
In protest, we could all pick one day and yank all our money out of the bank in the form of a cashier check.
Of course, this could be considered conspiracy to commit treason as it might destroy the US banking system if enough people did that.
Keep calling and reminding your representative that you are against the plan. That and all of our prayers just might get us through this. :)
Which would be removed in conference. duh.
Thanks again :-)
Not getting any sleep tonight either because of this monstrosity. :(
I find that when I attempt sleep, i remember more vivid details about the bill I read today, and “what could happen 5 years from now” if we let it pass.
So far, in the House, none that I know of are supporting this. How many will vote for it without saying they will? Who knows.
None. Boehner says the whole GOP is voting no.
This is a Dem debacle
I haven’t slept well in a year. Wish I was exagerating, but, I am not. I sympathize, and wish you well deserved rest.
Looks like the soapbox is no longer an option.
