If the bill passes and the Judge really believes all this is going to go down, let's see if he moves abroad in order to escape the festering stinkhole he believes the US will become. He's got the money and the college/law degrees to do it, and through Fox News he's probably made some good connections.

I know the Judge has been fighting the good fight on Fox, but really, he'd have to be crazy to stay in the US if things went as bad as he predicts. In fact, he'd have to be crazy if he's not already making plans....

We have begun focusing on our state and local representatives, targeting them, if you will. I am finally getting direct responses back from the governor’s office, instead of just being told to write to our U.S. seators, which is what I had been getting before.

If we are going to end the elitism in D.C. it is going to require capturing the minds and hearts of our legislatures and local representatives again, and insisting that they go to battle for us to protect our freedoms.

All of us need a fresh course on the Tenth Amendment and start using its terminology when writing to our state reps.

What exactly does this big-britches talk suggest?

The govt and the news media would have demonized the Lexington militia and branded them polygamists, and child molesters first.

Now they will do worse, and they will cheer the drones and the tanks.

I've seen officers of the federal government shoot, burn and murder our neighbors. Nobody came (admittedly neither did I...didn't realize the gravity of what was happening.) I've seen local cops confiscate guns in New Orleans.

They will do it again, "to uphold the Constitution, by restoring 'the peace' in the emergency first."

And don't even think about a mass "tea party with guns!"

Put us all in one nice easy disorganized "dangerous" bunch to be "neutralized" for the good of the community?

It's not going to be like any of the above. At best, it will be little grassfires here and there, sniper shots one by one John Muhammad style which would create a vast clamor from the rest of people to confiscate all the weapons.

The DC sniper like hysteria+swine flu+economic panic means the US Army would gladly round up the holdouts to protect and defend the Constitution, and they would have to in order to carry out their duty.

The judge is dead on, you just haven't realized it yet. The health insurance industry is about to go belly up. I personally know many doctors who are looking to retire or to change professions, the risk of law suits is too great. I have seen docs practice in CYA mode, and it doesn't help the patient or really protect them from being sued.

There is also an entire movement within the medical/health care community to make “quality of life” decisions. If you don't know what that means, I will spell it out for you. Your doctor will have the power (by default, if you don't spell it out legally) to make the decision for you about whether the quality of your life is worth them doing anything to save it. One example is that in Florida, those with the H1N1 virus (primarily younger people) who are very ill may require respirators. There is just one problem, most of the respirators are currently in use by the elderly there. Some would like to change that and make the respirators available to young people simply because they hate the thought of young people dying. What about the elderly??? What if you have a Down’s Syndrome child with H1N1? I know this; human life has value, and one life has no less value than another.

It is not a stretch by any means to see how government reimbursement practices may affect the doctors’ decisions (medicare for example). We just won't be calling them the evil HMOs of the 1980s and 1990s.

I will leave you with one thought that a pastor told me years ago. He told me that God loves life. He loves it when it is easy and when it is hard, but He loves life.

Unfortunately, it will take the downfall of our economy to force the issue. If that happens, as I think it will, political office holders of every stripe will be the first ones to pay the ultimate price.

Congress and Obama are pushing the American people to far and if even parts of this health care bill or cap and tax pass there could be an outright revolt. I expect that Republicans will sweep Congress in 2010 and begin undoing the mess Obama, Reid and Pelosi have made. Even with that hope for the future, I fear that even our fundamental rights of free speech and self determination will be lost before the Obama regime is voted out. Obama’s vision for America is to turn it into East Germany.

I'm trying to say that it's not going to be clear cut. It's going to be in a critical disaster. Chicago or somewhere will get nuked, or infected and quarantined with some bioterror bug, and then other places devolve into chaos and don't forget the crooks and gangs come out of the woodwork, alongside the patriots. How does the sherriff tell the difference between a felon like you and a felon drug dealer/gangbanger, much less the low-level FBI field agent out of Dallas flown in to help the locals?

We were probably 30 minutes away from having an air force pilot pull the trigger on Flight 93, and a hundred or so innocent citizens in order to save the capitol/white house BUILDING which had been evacuated. You think for a minute if the potus orders extraordinary action in extraordinary (perhaps contrived) circumstances the miltiary won't see it immediately as a requirement to uphold their duty and preserve and defend the country?

Surely in the weeks and months after the crisis soldiers will start to desert and disobey...and others will not. Worst case they hang together against the people (unlikely over time) and best case the military splinters and then we have civil war, not between left and right, but between unknown factions in the military-government complex. Again, it won't be obvious who the 'good guys' are, just like it wasn't at Waco.

I didn't say the fight is over. I don't doubt it's beginning. I just want people who talk Alamo-style to take the next step and talk about what really will happen...not the romantic John Wayne movie in their head.

I've seen 'reality' after a tornado, up close, for example. The world looks totally different.
