Often when there is a mass shooting, people who knew the gunman find themselves wondering what warning signs they might have missed. So it is in the case of Maj. Nidal Hasan, a 12-year veteran in the U.S. Army, a native-born American, a trained and practicing psychiatrist and the man authorities say opened fire on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood.
Those who look for a ready explanation for the murderous rampage at Fort Hood can choose between two broad narratives: Maybe it had to do with the travails of an Army psychiatrist, dealing with soldiers who had been traumatized, even disfigured, by their war experience; or maybe it had to do with being Muslim.
But this Muslim terrorist narrative won't convince everyone.
Perhaps soldiers in the mayhem of the moment only imagined Hasan said "Allahu Akbar."
It could be Hasan was just struggling with demons of his own making.

NPR: Hasan’s Story Won’t Be Easy To Sort Out
Translation: Hasan’s Story Won’t Be Easy To Spin.
To hell with National Propaganda Radio.
He was a typical Islamofascist.
End of story.
He is an Islamic sleeper like someone else.
The NRA needs to push for ALL AMERICAN troops to be able to carry sidearms on base for protection from these Islamic sleeper agents.
The sophists at NPR could convince themselves that night is day, but they’re going to have a harder time convincing anyone else that this killer was anything but an islamofascist terrorist murderer.
Despicable. Absolutely despicable.
I blame Republicans and conservatives for NPR. They had their opportunity to "defund" NPR and PBS in Bush's first term, but did nothing. Now, my tax dollars are taken from me and given, as an in-kind contribution to the DNC, directly to PBS and NPR.
When a Muslim who has rationalized suicide bombings and advocated their use in Time Square, in public forums, and shouts Allah Akbar before shooting 51 people, THAT is terrorism!
Would someone like to defend an alternate conclusion?
Nobody “imagined” hearing him shouting “Allah Akbar”, because there was no reason for any of the 300 present to assign a Muslim correlation with the shooter.
Exactly right.
The MSM sucks on this story. I’ve got one story that says he “became more devout after his mother’s death” and another that says his mother “apologizes.”
Unless it comes in their daily e-mail from Gibbs, they can’t seem to be able to report on it.
I don’t know why the MSM expects everyone to just suspend judgment until the MSM tells us what we should think about an event or person. Get drilled, MSM. I have plenty of facts to rush to judgment. I am not sitting on this guys jury.
It is my opinion that he is a Muslim terrorist who betrayed his country. He should be tried for murder and treason in a military court. He deserves a trial only because he is a citizen and I don’t begrudge any citizen the protection of the constitution. But once he is found guilty he should be summarily executed.
These idiots do not realize that swift, harsh judgment protects all of us from the spread of this kind of terrorism. Softness increases the risk of death of every American.
Oh. My. G-d.
Can the tone and wording of this be any more sympathetic to Hasan? HE, per NPR, is as much of a victim as dead and wounded. I am almost surprised that NPR does not question the “sensibilities” of offending “the confused” Hasan by having him shot by (audible gasp) a female infidel. Will they call for the police officer to be charged with a hate crime next?
Any way, oldecon, to have a “MegaBarf Alert” added to the title of this one? The article, as my boys would say, “blows chunks.”
NPR
Ostrich with head in the sand.
And we taxpayers fund these pukes.
Adding to the "list" of today's dhimmi "journalist" wankers:
What asses. Why don't you go interview some of these combat vets that are in the hospital right now recovering from their wounds IN PERSON. I hope they knock your lights out.
Hasan didn’t value human life.
Most folks who are opposed to war believe in peaceful protest.
Hasan was willing to kill others, rather than bear the discomfort that would follow a flat-out refusal to serve overseas.
I wonder if Hasan idolized Obama’s terrorist pal, Bill Ayers.
NPR needs to give me a call on my clue phone... I'll explain it to them.
It can be as easy or as hard as our government wants to make it. If they want to make the muslims look good, that’s what the Oval office will do. If they want to blame the military for this guys action, no matter how dumb it sounds, they will do it. If they want to stand up for the beliefs of the American people, they will do that also, but I wouldn’t bet on that option.
Sure. Just like soldiers reading this are only imagining that NPR is squarely on the side of the murderer.
Islam is a religion that uses violence as a tool of the faith. It does not deserve First Amendment protection — no more than would a religion which depends upon live human sacrifices on an altar in an oak grove. I see no differences.
What a stupid nation this has become, that NPR can run this rubbish with even a hope that a few people will buy it. Tap dancing around with every explanation except the clear and obvious one.
It’s really not all that hard. Hasan is a muslim assassin motivated by Islam.
I'll bet his ego was shattered, when he realized he was shot by a woman.
Hasan preferred to shoot and kill unarmed women.
He was a bald, middle-age, white, medical staffer. From looking at him, hardly anybody would have thought he was Muslim. This makes it unlikely they imagined it.
Clearly written by a Wanker.
We, here on FR and other forums, know what Allahu Akbar means (and it is not “habe a nice day). How many innocent Americans, like the soldiers in the waiting rooms at Ft. Hood, DO NOT know that when someone stands up and shouts that, they better run for their very life?
How DARE the media promote more bloodshed, in the name of almighty PC “diversity” by keeping the Allahu Akbar OUT of the reporting. Gen. Cone even admitted that this was heard/stated/quoted by dozens of eye witnesses.
Every American MUST learn that they need the knowlwdge of what Allahu Akbar means. This phrase is like shouting “Fire” in a crowded theatre...but hepped up on PC steriods.
Appropriate name for the author, for this story is certainly a hand job..
What a pile of steaming poo NPR is. They’ve just made the NY Times appear to be a fair and balanced news source.
And can there be any more smiling photos of this terrorist??? I was just looking for news pics from the vigil and after each victim is his mug and his family. I caught the replay of O’Reilly this morning and thankfully there was no spinning or sympathy there.
There were so many things left undone during that period. It makes me think Republicans are more comfortable out of power and complaining, than in power and acting.
12 years? He graduated VA Tech in 2001.
The years don’t add up.
Seems like the libs don’t expect the terrorist to make it.....
So Pravda is calling the victims a bunch of liars? Disgusting.
Duh, the investigators were not there at the time. Who are they going to believe? Some NPR Wanker or 20 or 30 folks who were there? He could have also been saying AA while SHOOTING or after or all of the above.
There you go using logic, instead of trying to whitewash with propaganda.
His story is easy as HELL to sort out. The guy is a typical, radical Islamic terrorist, doing the bidding of his “holy” book and his phony “religion”. Any questions? The only “difficulty” will be that of the MSM spinning like tops by trying to make this psycho Muslim extremist thug the VICTIM! Oh, they’ll present the story in just that way, given their utter contempt for the intelligence of the American public, but they won’t be fooling anybody.
It’s difficult to sort out because the Army, the FBI, and the entire PC government crowd are in CYA mode.
One more time...as a radical Muslim the man was predisposed to do something like this when the going got tough. Solution: screen Muslims for radical tendencies and take subsequent input in this regard from associates as seriously as you would take input indicating ‘radical Christian’ tendencies. (Which you can bet are taken seriously now.)
“FBI investigators aren’t sure Hasan really did say those words before he started shooting.”
The FBI was investigating this guy for six months before this crime. Their credibility is at issue.
This whining liberal pos posing as a writer is a real Wanker:
Walter Reed obstructing FBI investigation of Hasan?

Did Homeland Security and the Brass at Walter Reed ignore the Islamic killers rantings, promote him and send him to Ft Hood?
The killer doctor apparently voiced his hatred of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and our warriors to anyone and on a regular basis. He got by with this bs because he was Islamofascist, who became an Islamofascist Mass Killer.
Did Homeland Security and the Brass at Walter Reed ignore the Islamic killers rantings, promote him and send him to Ft Hood?
Mark Stein does a great job of shredding the pc bs and getting to reality of Islamic Killers in America and around the world:

MARK STEYN: MULTICULTURAL ILLUSIONS KILL - NO STRATEGY TO DEFEND AGAINST IDEOLOGY

Thirteen dead and 31 wounded would be a bad day for the US military in Afghanistan, and a great victory for the Taliban. When it happens in Texas, in the heart of the biggest military base in the nation, at a processing center for soldiers either returning from or deploying to combat overseas, it is not merely a tragedy (as too many people called it) but a glimpse of a potentially fatal flaw at the heart of what we have called, since 9/11, the war on terror. Brave soldiers trained to hunt down and kill Americas enemy abroad were killed in the safety and security of home by, in essence, the same enemy a man who believes in and supports everything the enemy does.
And hes a US Army major.
And his superior officers and other authorities knew about his beliefs but seemed to think it was just a bit of harmless multicultural diversity as if believing that the Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor (ie, his fellow American soldiers) and writing Internet paeans to the noble heroism of suicide bombers and, indeed, objectively supporting the other side in an active war is to be regarded as just some kind of alternative lifestyle that adds to the general vibrancy of the base.
When it emerged early on Thursday afternoon that the shooter was Nidal Malik Hasan, there appeared shortly thereafter on Twitter a flurry of posts with the striking formulation: Please judge Major Malik Nadal [sic] by his actions and not by his name.

NPR is the liberal head-up-your-ass radio network. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is much the same.
NOTE TO NPR: I pretty much sorted it out when they released his name (if not before). “Allahu Akbar” pretty much clinched it. Now go do some research!
I have to laugh, rather ruefully, at these news reports. It’s amazing to me that these so-called journalists see fit to feed the public their delusions.
By the way, remember when Timothy McVeigh actions were erroneously blamed on conservative talk radio? What was the justification for that? These supposed “journalists” are simply biased liberal idiots. That doesn’t rule out the possibility that some are simply insidious liars.
Does every liberal rag have a sympathetic story about this jihadi asshole?
Homeland Security Is On The Job
Remember-All cultures are equal and Diversity is our strength.
It could be Hasan was just struggling with demons of his own making.
NPR, rewriting history before the ink is dry on the first draft! Disgusting!

News flash, NPR morons: there is nothing to sort out. He is a MUSLIM; that is what they DO!
The practical translation is "take cover and prepare to evacuate or return fire".
