9/11 memorial turns controversial in Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn. - An effort to honor a Sept. 11 victim in the small Connecticut town of Kent has unexpectedly became a contentious debate. That’s because the victim’s father has insisted his son’s memorial say he was murdered by "Muslim terrorists."

Town officials say it would be inappropriate to single out a religious group on a project on town property that’s paid for with taxpayers’ money. The memorial is on indefinite hold.
