Like many Americans, Im very concerned about the efforts underway to rush through the 2,000 page Pelosi health care bill this weekend. Why the rush? Thats a lot of pages to read. Why not give everyone the chance to read it and debate it?
How much will this bill cost us?
Its unclear because the figures coming out of Washington keep changing and always in the direction of costing more, not less. The latest numbers show it will cost more than a trillion dollars over the decade, but when has a government program ever come in on or under budget?
How will we pay for it?
Taxes, of course and not just on the rich (you know, the people who spur the economy by buying goods and running companies that employ people), but also on just about everyone, especially small businesses the job-creating engine of our economy. One of the points of health care reform was to help small businesses with the cost, but this bill hurts them and right at a time when so many Americans are out of work and need the jobs that small businesses produce.
Whats in this bill?
The death panel provision is in it. Medicare cuts are in it. Coverage of illegal immigrants is in it. And federal funding for abortion is in it. I commend the many Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats who are taking a principled stance to fight this.
I had a message for Speaker Pelosi in a speech I gave last night for the Wisconsin Right to Life
please, please dont break the transparency promise by prohibiting at least a vote of your colleagues on funding abortion-on-demand.
Speaker Pelosi has already broken many promises thus far in this reform exercise. She promised that this would be a bi-partisan effort, but the bill shes pushing isnt bi-partisan. She promised that the final version of the bill would be posted online 72 hours before it comes to a vote so that the American people could clearly see whats in it and how we will pay for it. But she broke that promise too when she decided to rush the bill to a vote this weekend.
The speaker must be held accountable for her broken promises.
Now is the time for Americans who believe in the free market and who believe that we need policies that promote job growth instead of job loss to say once and for all, Enough! Stand up and make your voices heard before its too late.
Call and email your representatives and tell them to vote no on Pelosis train wreck of a health care bill, or else we will vote no to sending them back to Washington when we go to the polls in less than 12 months.

PS: For an idea of the bureaucratic maze that the Pelosi bill would create, take a look at this new chart put out by the Joint Economic Committee. (see below)
~~PING!
Sarah tried really hard to make us all see what was in this bill. She did a great job, she tried. We all did, we still have to fight, we still have a chance of defeating this crap in the Senate. I thank God that we have Sarah on our side. This bill affects her and her family as much as it affects ours. She knows what will happen if it passes. We must continue to fight
Not howling loud enough....
Yep, here’s the chart — easy to read:

Thanks! I just downloaded it and sent it to everyone in my address book.
Good and thanks for taking the time to do that.

You know what though.....maybe we deserve this for letting these Dems (and Republicans) already force our military and senior citizens on Medicare!
It was one thing when the Congress tied required Medicare coverage to social security benefits for our seniors but then they broke a promise to the military and put them under the plan as well when they hit 65.
So now the rest of the country (except Congress, some unions, and government bureacrats) will be under Medicare.
SERIOUSLY i say we need to start demanding they put the Feds on this plan if we are forced onto it!
I am sure glad that smart people are now in charge of the government
When our government votes against the wishes of the majority, they have met the textbook definition of tyranny. They only retain their ability to govern through the consent of the people. They are the ones who have wilfully taken actions to have their consent to govern revoked. By their actions they have made the current government of the United States illegitimate. All revolutions start with a singular point, and this is it.
According to the Declaration of Independence we have a right, as well as an obligation to abolish our government when it becomes destructive. We have the right, and duty, to overthrow the government when a “long train of abuses and usurpations” occurs. I could go on endlessly, listing these abuses, and usurpations, but it is not necessary at this point.
Proverbially, as far as I am concerned, this is the straw that broke the camel’s back. This is my Declaration of Independence, and woe to they whom have crossed the line from governance to monarchy. We are no longer citizens, but subjects, and as such, I demand the current “government’s” surrender and to vacate the seat of our government, or I will consider them to be occupiers, and will act accordingly.
Hero/Patriot/Real Woman Alert!
I don’t think a revolution has started.
But the roots have definitely been laid down.
