Army Concludes Shootings Involved Only One Gunman
New York Times ^ | 11/8/09 | By CLIFFORD KRAUSS and LIZ ROBBINS

Posted on 11/08/2009 2:28:26 AM PST by malkee

Military investigators have concluded that there was only one gunman involved in the rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead and dozens more injured, but they added that they were still trying to determine whether other people were involved in any plot, an Army spokesman said on Saturday.

The spokesman, Chris Grey, also told reporters during a briefing that the shooting suspect, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, an Army psychologist, had been taken off a ventilator on Saturday but remained in the intensive care unit at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Major Hasan was shot four times by a police officer after he reportedly opened fire on Thursday at the Soldier Readiness Processing Center.

Major Hasan’s brother, Eyad Hasan, issued a statement to the news media Saturday, offering condolences to people injured and to the families of those killed in the attack and moral support for Major Hasan.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families who have lost loved ones and everyone else affected by the horrific events that transpired at Fort Hood,” the statement said. “We are in a state of shock and disbelief over this dreadful news.”

If you'd ever done any research into to koran as I have, you would agree.

If islam were a cult of a few thousand people, following a book that tells them to kill all non-believers, and lie and do whatever it takes to control the world, they would not be allowed in any country. But because there are 1 billion of them, people such as yourself think it's politically expedient to ignore the problem. When they nuke an American city, I shall personally blame head-in-sand persons such as yourself.

Here are JUST A FEW relevant quotes from the koran. Would you like to point out how it does not directly inspire terrorism?

"Men take authority over women... As for those who are disobedient,
admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them." (Surah 4:34)

"Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...
until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:29)

"Muhammad is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers
[non-moslims] but merciful to one another." (Surah 48:29)

"It is not for any Prophet to have captives until he has made slaughter in the land."
(Surah 8:67)

"When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters [non-moslims] wherever you find them.
Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them." (Surah 9:5)

"Believers! Know that idolators [non-moslims] are unclean." (Surah 9:28)

"If you fear treachery from any of your allies, you may fairly retaliate by breaking off
your treaty with them." (Surah 9:12)

(Arabs have the word "hudna". The Enemedia translates it "peace". But it is more subtle,
meaning "a temporary truce for the purpose of rearming". Where we speak of
"the Oslo Peace Accord", in Arab media, they call it "the Oslo Hudna Accord")

"Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends." (Surah 5:51)

"Fight unbelievers [non-moslims] who are near to you." (Surah 9:123)

"As for the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as punishment
for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah." (Surah 5:38)

"Unbelievers [non-moslims] are enemies of Allah and they will roast in hell." (Surah 41:14)

"The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslims make war against the Jews and
kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say:
'Oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!'"
(Sahih Bukhari 004.52.176)

"Unbelievers [non-moslims] are those who say: 'God is one of three.' There is but one God.
If they do not desist from so saying, those of them that disbelieve shall be sternly punished."
(Surah 5:73)

"The Christians say: The Christ is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths;
they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them." (Sura 9:30)

"The unbelievers [non-moslims] are the firewood of hell." (Surah 72:15)

"When you meet the unbelievers [non-moslims], smite their necks, then when you have made
wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds, then set them free, either by grace or ransom,
until the war lays down its burdens." (Surah 47:4)

"Prophet make war on the unbelievers [non-moslims] and the hypocrites [non-literalist moslims]
and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home." (Surah 9:73)

Incidentally I prefer the posting of a link to the posting of the full article, helps confirm the source.

The Stone Age nomadic tribes of the Middle East have been slaughtering each other over religious issues since the dawn of recorded history. I don't consider their religious beliefs to be any more relevant than those of the Hutu and Tutsis.

The only strategic concern that involves us in their genocidal feuds is our dependence on Oil.

I’m not going to argue with that. There is definitely some relevance to that statement.

Letting those tribes and their viral power-acquisition system gain a foothold in America is suicidal. Our system of governance is antithetical to their mindset. They do not come to take part like European immigrants. They just perceive a millenia-old war and their part in that.

We must look that problem in the face, right now.

Their is no “melting pot”. Everything is gravitating back to the centuries-old issues, despite the mindset of the over-intellectualized, over-emotional modern Western feminine mindset.

Questions, questions and ANSWERS will remain forever unknown, IMHO!

There is too much at stake here to ever let the truth be known cuz the PC fix is in

Here is one: Okay, one shooter using one semi-auto hand gun (albeit choosing a high-powered and effective killing machine which in itself should raise question in his choice of weapon) then how is it that a non-combatant psychologist, never exposed to combat, can exact that much damage and casualties in such a short period of time (4-5 min) being able to reload with apparent ease and being nonplussed absent some extensive training and practice???

Because it takes close to nothing to gun down unarmed victims but besides that it’s already been reported the guy went to the gunrange and practiced on a regular basis.

Also your choice of calling a handgun a “high-powered and effective killing machine” is laughable.

Thanks for the support on the link, as I am with you on that general suggestion for us all. The code is simple to create a easy link but it is hard to copy here, as it wants to "do its thing"

Here's a try, copy the following JAVA code from the "<" to and including the ">", then just remove space in the following link the space between the "<" and the "a". Also, remove the space toward the end, between the final "/" and the "/a>"

The only real space in the code is the one following the first "a" and before the code starting with "href". Just replace the suggested URL with the one you want to use and the "text for link" with what ever you want to remain showing on the finished screen display. The link text can have spaces but not the URL. Good luck!

Regular URL named link: < a href="http://url_here.com/">text for link< /a>

I don't understand the oil connection. All of the islamic terrorist attacks, including 9/11 and the Fort Hood shooting have been carried out by people who have shown by their pre-incident behavior, that they are responding to deeply held religious beliefs...including a deeply felt hatred for all things western and a willingness to die for their beliefs.

Are you saying that they were actually motivated by their understanding of the international oil situation? Or are you saying if we were not dependent on middle east oil that they would not be "mad at us"?

I suspect he killed Americans because his parents failed to name him "Hank" Hasan and didn't sign him up for the local Little League baseball team. I bet he never went Trick or Treat on Halloween, either.
