So What Do We Do Now?
Vanity | November 8, 2009 | Wpin

Posted on 11/08/2009 6:26:47 AM PST by Wpin

This morning I awoke to the news that the democrats have succeeded in passing their "health" bill. One lone Republican voted for it, thirty-eight democrats voted against it. In spite of the people's wishes this government has moved us another step into socialistic fascism. Just as Hitler did in his tenure as leader of Germany.

So, I am wondering today...what do we do now? It is obvious that protesting as we have with our Tea Parties have had no affect. Tyrants always have reason for tyranny and they will not be stopped by the American people protesting politely, even when there are hundreds of thousands of us at one place.

As most of us here I am very disheartened, indeed saddened deeply by what I view as what may be another nail in the coffin of freedom and decency. Are these the end times? Are we to suffer terribly for our nation ignoring God? I have so many questions which I do not have the answer to. All I know from my life is to do the right thing, to stand up for liberty and decency. To strive to prevail over what I view as this evil. But, how to do that? Do we continue to do our Tea Parties? Do we work on seperating from this nation and building our own? Would the democrats even allow that? Maybe someone can offer some clarity, some sound thinking on what the hell we do now. I would appreciate it greatly.

My Senators are Klobuchar and Franken. Two of the biggest Marxists in Congress. Writing to them is a waste of effort. You couldn’t get them to vote against this if you tortured them first...

Great question. Will there be a “shot heard round the world” that will usher in a 2nd revolution?? I feel like we live in a literal powder keg now. All it needs is a spark....

I believe we need a DRIVE on Washington DC. We need to drive into the city and park legally where we can. Then as we keep coming and not leaving, the streets will come to a stand still. We will stop the business in Washington.

I am tired and cannot take this any more.....

>>I’m going to mass.<<

I’m with you.
Nothing we have done has worked at this point.

Only The Lord can sort it out.

Of course. Even though I think we are in “4th Box” territory, this is no reason to stop using the other 3 boxes. Every effort needs to be exhausted.

We prayed before the election. We prayed yesterday before this vote.

The answer was NO.

I don't think that's obvious at all. This thing would have sailed through, with much worse provisions than it has, if not for the loud roar coming from every state. Having energy and passion on your side in politics is always a good thing. The left is going out of its way to minimize the Tea Party movement, but it's obvious they are very concerned about it.

Apart from that, this thing is far from over. The senate has long been the place where things passed with party discipline in the house go to die. Even with 59 or 60 votes (Lieberman), this is no slam dunk. Landreu and Lincoln are dead meat if they support it. Who knows if Reid's heart will really be in it by January when forced retirement becomes a reality for him. Over the next two months, as people have time to digest the 2000 pages in the house bill and publicize things like jail for not buying health insurance, public sentiment could very well reach the point where it will just die.

One way to get the govt’s attention - is to starve it to death. The very people that are against this POS bill are the very people that will be paying for it. We need to get into “bunker down” mentality. It will involve much sacrifice, but we need to cut our income down to absolute-barely-survivable-levels, don’t shop for anything that isn’t local & needed just for survival. Bring their revenue down to where THEY are going to have to cut back for a change. It’s the greatest power we have right now. We need to bring tax collection to it’s knees.

I’m not sure just changing your W4 is enough. Sooner or later, you will have to pay that money, STOP making the money. Let all of these Democrats start taking up the slack - see how long they stand for that.

I think we’re well beyond phone calls, e-mails and faxes now. Congresscritters are clearly ignoring the electorate.

abundantly clear, so the language contained in the Declaration of Independence is now the next line of defense, and the only one remaining IMHO.

The lines have been drawn in the sand, this is not an issue of right vs left, or of politics at all, but right vs wrong and the path to destruction is clearly defined, if not by the good book, then certainly by the founding fathers.

Abortion alone is reason enough for the nation to rise up in anger against those who approve of such policy, and enforce it by the rule of law. Which law, based on no foundation in law is but window dressing to be torn down, and replaced.

I would repeat the oft stated quote of John Adams that “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”

Benjamin Franklin said: “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters”.

What more could be said, that describes just the situation we find ourselves in at this very moment.

There have been several occasions when Congress had undone previously passed legislation. Lets work on making Congress in 2010 and forward a more responsive and responsible body.

Let's start by working on the Senators. Nancy Pelosi didn't get the message. Make sure she does!

I read your quote attached to your name and here is what you said, “When we are part of a community...there is hope that is shared.”

So, don’t roll over and give up. The numbers where close and 39 dems see the light. Just take every opportunity you
see to spread the word that freedom and liberty for all is
at stake.

We need a tax revolt. This only has a chance of working if large numbers of people do it.

They are no longer dependent on taxes. They print and borrow all the money they want.

I tend to believe there is more than a grain of truth to your statement. A very very scary situation. Confucius says, The house of cards cannot stand up in a stiff wind.
