The U.S. is considering adapting a unilateral Palestinian declaration of independence in the West Bank and Jerusalem regardless of negotiations with the Jewish state, according to Israeli sources speaking to Israel's Haaretz newspaper.

White House website - 2007 Bush said more than 5 years ago (from that date - i.e., 2002) he became the first U.S. President to call for the creation of a Palestinian state, side-by-side with Israel.

Which is exactly the kind of PR nightmare Israel is desperate to avoid. Maybe the Obama administration doesn't have the balls to attempt it, and just maybe they have been wanting to put the screws to Israel all along. Just yesterday, Rep. Cantor was talking about possible changes in support for Israel in the house and senate. I put nothing past this bunch. Nothing.

Emanuel isn’t an IDF veteran. He gave up his Israeli citizenship in the brief period from age 17 1/2 to 18 it can be done, likely to avoid service in the IDF. He served in a volunteer program for a few weeks, which is quite different.
You can knock us down, but you can’t make us stay there. Better men have tried and failed for 3,500 years. I guess by piece, Obama means start a war. That’ll sure boost his approval index.

I don’t think Obama will try this because, Cantor’s fears notwithstanding, the US Congress is not on Obama’s wavelength on Israel.
It is one thing to apply some pressure on settlements and another to force the 1967 truce lines on Israel, and yet another to void prior UN resolutions. Even on construction a huge majority of Congress signed on to a letter asking Obama to let up.

According to what I read in the Bible, Israel will never be defeated by a foreign power until the Great Tribulation, and that will only be for a short time. I think things are shaping up for Ezekiel’s war (Chapts 38 & 39) and I think our Government is about to put us on the losing side.
