ARMY CHIEF CONCERNED FOR MUSLIM TROOPS
New York Times ^ | Joseph Berger

Posted on 11/09/2009 3:17:42 AM PST by Ronbo1948

General George Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, said on Sunday that he was concerned that speculation about the religious beliefs of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, accused of killing 12 fellow soldiers and one civilian and wounding dozens of others in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, could “cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers.”

“I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that,” General Casey said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union. “It would be a shame — as great a tragedy as this was — it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well.”

General Casey, who was appeared on three Sunday news programs, used almost the same language during an interview on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” an indication of the Army’s effort to ward off bias against the more than 3,000 Muslims in its ranks.

“A diverse Army gives us strength,” General Casey, who visited Fort Hood Friday, said on “This Week.”

I was listening to the radio this morning and they brought up a good point. If a Japanese officer during WWII were to make comments praising the Japanese Empire to his fellow officers would he still have a commission the following morning?

This political correctness busllsh*t needs to stop, common sense HAS to make a comeback if we are to survive as a nation in this world we live in now.

“There were good people who Nazis during World War 2. That didn’t make Nazism right”
You make a good point here, expatguy. There were many Germans during the Second World War who did not want to face the atrocities the government was enacting, preferring to believe that Hitler was going to create order in a Germany that had become chaotic. Islam is a religion of legalistic regulations that appeals to externals. It gives chaotic people a sense of order. (That is why it appeals so much to certain blacks in the prison systerm.) Anyhow, I used to work with a nice Muslim lady who just could not believe that Christians could pray to God at any time or any place. For her to pray, she had to ritually bathe and then praying in and of itself was a ritual. Because it is a religion of form and outward appearance, there are many Muslims who haven’t a clue what it really means. Islam has and always will be an enemy to the Christian world. They are our enemy now, and anyone ascribing to that religion should not be in the United States Armed Services. If they are, then their associations with Muslim houses of worship should be scrutinized. We are at war, and drastic measures should not be winked at.

How to tell a BAD AMERICA-HATING RADICAL Muslim from a GOOD AMERICA-LOVING MODERATE Muslim:

The RADICAL Muslim believes this:

KORAN [9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair [Ezra] is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

But the MODERATE Muslim believes this:

KORAN [9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair [Ezra] is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

I feel like we are all serving again, in this fight for our country’s freedom. I would like this general to show me ONE country where Islam co-exists with other beliefs peacefully and with mutual respect. He cannot. Methinks he may be a muzzie or a muzzie sympathizer. So let us serve once more in this most important fight! You are my brother in arms-MICB

(With the MODERATE, the exclamation point is optional.)

well, the “diverse army” killed 13 (16?) at Ft Hood, didn’t it General?

"13" has been a lie since the following morning.
One of the dead was pregnant.

If Hitler had been as clever as Mohammed, he would have proclaimed Nazism to be a new religion.

Then PC-uber-alles dolts would demand that Nazi SS “priests” should be allowed to join the US Army, even as they preached the slaughter of non-Nazis.

And when these Nazi SS “priests” massacred Americans, these PC dolts would worry more about a potential backlash against “moderate Nazis” than the safety of Americans.

PC Kills.

This is where our military is. On Fox this weekend, they had on one of their regular military analysts. I can’t remember the guy’s name, but he is a regular and previously had good analysis and opinions. They were discussing the role of women in combat. He actually made the comment that “the only people against women in combat are white males”. I was flabbergasted that he would say that. Isn’t he a white male? And he’s for it? I can’t follow logic like that.

I say General Casey should be held responsible for his words and actions that greatly contributed to the death and wounding of American soldiers. I say General Casey should face a courts martial for homicide and treason for his offenses against the Republic and his soldiers, and given the death sentence if found guilty.

You have a rather colorful posting history for a newbie. Either you really believe in what you are saying, or you're a disruptor trying to stir up people's emotions to get someone to post something really outragious and make us all look like fools.

FWIW, I don't think muslims should be serving in the U.S. Military either. It is a well known fact that muslims put their loyalty to the koran and allah above any other loyalty, including that of loyalty to the United States. This is not a question of 'diversity', but one of national security. The Chief is wrong and he knows it.

“King Saul was just over 3000 years ago.”

Wrong calendar.
Hebrew Calendar, this is the year 5770. But the war with Amalek began when the Hebrews were leaving Egypt.
Their history began in Genesis.
Continued:
Exodus 17: 8-16 Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim (immediately after the miracle of the water from the rock at Horeb) Moses said to Joshua, “Pick some men for us, and go out and do battle with Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill, with the rod of ETERNAL in my hand.” Joshua did as Moses told him and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Then, whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; but whenever he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But after Moses’ hands grew heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur, one on each side, supported his hands; thus his hands remained steady until the sun set. Joshua overwhelmed the people of Amalek with the sword.

Then the ETERNAL said to Moses, “Inscribe this in a document as a reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua; I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven!” And Moses built an altar and named it Adonai-nissi. He said “It means, ‘ hand upon the throne of the ETERNAL!’ The ETERNAL will be at war with Amalek throughout the ages.”

Thank you for your characterization of my postings as, “colorful” - I like to call them “polemics” which is a passionate argument that gets people’s attention and makes them think.

Yes, I believe what I say, or I don’t say it! I may be be new to Free Republic, but if you want to look at my posting record on the Internet, I would direct you to my blog, “The Freedom Fighter’s Journal” with over 4,000 articles published since 2005.

I see you agree with me on the issue of Muslims in the U.S. military. Maybe tomorrow you’ll agree that General Casey should stand tall before a courts martial and explain why he didn’t protect his soldiers at Fort Hood. I say an example needs to be made - and Casey would be an excellent place to start.

Excellent post! Indeed, in WW II would we have allowed Nazis in the U.S. Army? After all, Nazism was a religion in addition to being a political philosophy - just like Islam.

Speaking of the parallels between the Nazis and Muslims, thousands of Muslim served in Nazi armies and were thought highly of by Hitler.

Birds of a feather, heh?

Good point! Obama will replace as many combat leaders with political hacks as possible, but at the end of the day the thing that will turn the guns against him should civil war begin on his watch is the military oath to the U.S. Constitution.

Yes let’s worry about the 3,500 Muslim troops in the military and forget about the PC BS that endangers all the rest.

Casey is unfit for leadership.

Would You Tolerate Men in Your Command Who Consider This Book "HOLY"?!!!

Would You Tolerate Men in Your Command Who Consider This Book "HOLY"?!!!
Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land. 2 You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king [kill every single one of them, man, woman, and child], except that you may carry off their plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city."
You really need to reason a bit more carefully.

Casey is useless as a general, but he would be very useful at a courts martial as an example of what happens to a commander who failed at protecting his troops from an easily predicted terror attack because of his boot licking political correctness.
