With this 'victory,' Dems might as well be whistlin' 'Dixie'

Saturday's vote to create a massive government-run health-insurance program is to Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats what the Battle of Gettysburg was to the South.

It will be remembered as the high point of their unswerving efforts to demand government solutions to every big problem.

It was their most daring stab, deepest into enemy territory.

And the creeks will fill with the political blood of the dead who charged blindly into the angry enemy fire.

Long from now, gauzy-eyed liberals will tear up at the memory of those who pressed forward through the mindless carnage despite knowing full well the sure fate staring back at them.

Courage. Forced Health care is unconstitutional and (moreover) unpopular.

I have every faith that, even if it passes, Americans will rid themselves of this incubus.

This is a victory? A bill written we think; but not allowed to be read by anyone by a bunch of commie lovin America haters who do nothing but lie and destroy.

No, this is not a victory. It’s treason and the American people will treat it and the people who wrote or voted for it as such.

It is ironic that the first modern attempt to re-institute slavery came from an administration led by a half-white.

It's lose the battle but win the war for the socialists. They know if they can get just a portion of the bill passed, it's a step closer to their goal, and will further condition the public to accept it.

Let's see if the "reach across the aisle" types like John and Lindsey help them out. I'm sure there are plenty of professional Republican politicians that, while outwardly fighting against the bill, know that more gubmint is more power for them, too.

There is no question about it: Free Republic is the New York Times of the Right - FReepers express thoughts today that become tomorrow’s conservative headlines and column titles.

To a point, I agree, at least in terms of being the bellwether.

But FReepers are capable of independent thought and reasoning.

His is a rather lurid treatment of the analogy.

This bill is a 25 pound, 2 weeks rotten, DEAD ALTBATROSS strapped around the democrat’s neck like pelosi’s love-beads. I hope they enjoy the smell for the next year.

"Courage. Forced Health care is unconstitutional and (moreover) unpopular.

Just like we've gotten rid of every other unpopular, inefficient, bloated government program in the past?

I'm not holding out much hope........

Yes, and we’ll be stuck with a program we NEVER WILL BE RID OF.

The Dems may lose control of the House in 2010. Maybe even the Senate.

They DON'T CARE.

If they pass this, the federal government will be in control of over 50% of the economy. We will have socialism. This bill will create a constituency (just as the welfare state and federal funds for education did) which will be dependent on the Democrats being in power. The Dems will get voted BACK into office, and will have power for GENERATIONS.

” Ya mean: Half-white, three-eights A-RAB, one eighth black”

This is probably the only place we will see that pointed out.

Recall reading in another post on the site that his African father is more Arabic than African, so see where you would come up with the 3/8 Arab.

For many who have never lived overseas they wouldn’t recognize that there are many countries where skin color doesn’t necessarily tell what a persons nationality is.

Lurid in the extreme. I prefer your more restrained treatment, but as ol' Gene Tammage used to say, don't care what they say as long as they spell my name right!
