You have to view this segment of the Meet the Press interview with Army chief of staff General George Casey to believe it -- to believe that our army could be led by someone as incompetent in national security matters as this man showed he was, first by claiming that the army hadn't "missed anything" in regard to the in-your-face warning signs exhibited by Major Hasan that he was a fanatical Muslim jihadist and an imminent threat to massacre our troops, by admitting that the army's diversity policies had trumped its security policies, and worst of all by making this statement:
"As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think thats worse."

Huh, most likely Current Occupant will create another star just for Casey.
“As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think thats worse.”

Sure. Diversity wins over the lives of 13 soldiers. Anytime.

Islamists given Army basic-training type "stress cards"
Obama, Army Standing Order: Don't Overreact
Stress cards offer American radical Muslims a break from confrontations
Good lord....what an effing idiot.
psychosis (detachment from reality)
DFR
the administration, the military brass and the left=DFR
Meet our next Democratic candidate for President.
That’s worse? He needs to tell that to the families of the 13 people who are now dead.
General Casey is a typical soft bureaucrat, full of caution and BS. When these 4 star generals reveal themselves to be Jihad Deniers, we are screwed.
5:22 mark on the tape for the backlash question.
Finishes up by saying “We as an army have to be broad enough to bring in people from all walks of life.” Sure, Islamic terrorists, white supremacists, gangstas, MS-13, Chicoms. Diversity is our strength.
Another Perfumed Prince of the Pentagon.
An OBAMA man through and through.
He needs to be removed for the safety of our troops.
He didn’t do a swell job in Iraq either.
The problem is not General Casey, the problem is the Obama administration.
The whole US Army should go on strike.
This guy is a real pussy.
Goes to show....government is permeating every aspect of our lives, including the military. If I were the general, I would have said what I thought, but in his defense, he may have been TOLD what to say. When I look back at many of our generals, I dont see such krap coming out of them. That’s because they didn’t have a President or his henchmen controlling their thoughts.
By the way, just found out that Ft. Hood (or at least the area where the shootings took place) is a “gun-free zone?” These folks had no weapons...they had to wait for a civilian police officer to come in and rescue them. Another example of government meddling in military affairs.
My Dad who spent the majority of his adult life in the military (WWII, Korean War, and Viet Nam War) always said that the brass and the politicals always treated the welfare of the men as a political game.
I remember hearing my folks talk about how disgusted they were about being political pawns.
A member of the Joint Chiefs who follows administration orders with which he profoundly disagrees should resign. So, Casey either agrees with the policies or is willing to compromise his principals to keep his job. Either way, he is no leader.
The military isn’t the place for social experimentation or any so-called ‘diversity’, General - especially for muslims.
There should be no place in our Armed Forces for a group of people whose primary allegiance is to the koran, not the United States of America.
How many more dead Americans do we have to have before you understand that simple fact?
The Army is full of jerkoffs like him.
Mind you, this is the Officer Corps this blithering, PC, low watt water duffus is babbling about.
Pathetic.
Political correctness doesnt begin to describe Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey Jr.s outrageous comments, as alluded to by Jennifer, on the Sunday-morning talk shows concerning the Fort Hood massacre. Asked by ABCs George Stephanopolous whether the Army had dropped the ball in not recognizing that Hasan had become increasingly radical, Casey repeated the official mantra of the Obama administration, that we shouldnt jump to conclusions based on what he described as early tidbits about Hasans motives (say, shouting Allahu Akbar before firing 100 rounds of ammunition into his fellow soldiers).
Taken at his word, Caseys chief concern seems to be not protecting American soldiers from death at the hands of a jihadist in their midst, but preventing a backlash against diversity.
The speculation could heighten the backlash. What happened at Ft. Hood is a tragedy and I believe it would be a greater tragedy if diversity became a casualty here.
Casey made similar statements on CBS and NBC. The statements were offensive on several levels. Its as if our leaders civilian and, in this case, military believed that Americans are a pack of bigots wholl be beating up innocent Muslims on the streets and vandalizing mosques if given the least excuse. That hasnt happened, even in the aftermath of 9/11. In fact, Jews are nearly eight times as likely to be victims of religiously motivated hate crimes as Muslims are, according to FBI statistics. In 2007, the last year for which figures are available, 133 such crimes were reported against Muslims, compared with 1,010 against Jews.
The only ones jumping to conclusions about Hasans motives seem to be those in government. From President Obama on down, including the military chain of command, government officials seem to want to squelch legitimate questions about the role that Hasans religious views played in his decision to open fire at Fort Hood. That kind of willful myopia will breed suspicion and distrust among the American people and put servicemen and women at risk. And if Gen. Casey truly believes that diversity is more important than protecting his troops, he should hang up his uniform.
And many here wonder what has happened to our military? The real courageous leaders are AWOL.
Unbelievable!!! The only thing the USA Government can do is worry about the Backlash against Islam’s!
The only thing that changed to cause this bloodbath was the date for his deployment to Iraq. This date forced the Islam Terrorists to accelerate their plans so as to avoid wasting this highly placed and highly trained Asset!
Casey must be FIRED IMMEDIATELY! HE is an outrage!
General Casey [Ramesh Ponnuru]
Mark Steyn and Roger Clegg have already mentioned his (repeated!) claim that it would add to the tragedy of Ft. Hood if “diversity” were to become a casualty. This is the same Gen. Casey who strongly resisted the surge in Iraq. Bad judgment at home and abroad.
Diversity is Racism.
while we are all shocked, casey and his ilk are destroying our military. how many more will die like this for diversity’s sake?
Ditto! And delusional as well.
But he’ll likely be promoted by
the perfumed pretender at 1600.
How can the military regulars and
officers on the line and their
families, sacrificing all for us,
possibly tolerate these stabs in
the back and despicable travesties ?
Political correctness has infested practically every institution in the US, including the military (in fact, it might have 'led' the nation in that regard). Casey is just a well indoctrinated, PC bureaucrat of the sort that infests every nook and cranny of our federal government. Diversity is the highest goal for his sort. Common sense has no place in the thinking of Casey and others like him.
Hopefully the atrocity committed at Fort Hood will peel back at least a layer or two of the PC lunacy so well illustrated by Casey, Obama, Napolitano, and others, and the MSM, and maybe the country can begin to reverse it.
Well, so what if soldiers died! As long as murderers feelings aren’t hurt, that is what is important. /s
Just another typical General who knows nothing of what is going on in his command.
On top of all that, he also needs a haircut.
The Balkans have a lot of diversity.
Fat lot of good it's done them.
Are they anything like a T.S. Ticket ?
And, NO, the handling of this atrocity would have been no different under W. It’s not a Dim thing, or an Obama thing. This has been rotting away our institutions for at least a couple of decades.
Unfortunately, he’s a politician first...
It doesn’t get more “diverse” than having Muslim soldiers shouting Allah Akbar while killing other soldiers, so Casey should be proud of his successes in promoting “diversity” ....
We need to arrange that meeting.
This is just the kind of clown Hussein is looking to make the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs! A perfect, brain dead lackey and PC robot.
Who is surprised? How do you think people get promoted to General? By bucking the system? LOL! Breaking rules? Ha! Arguing with superiors? You bet!
His concern is clearly more for “diversity”, than for the injuries and loss of life that was suffered.
It’s terrifying to see such an idiot holding such a high ranking position in our military. He’s gotta go, NOW!
Where the Hell is the next Chesty Puller when you need him?
Agreed.
Absolutely.
After watching Casey’s interview yesterday (first time I’ve ever paid any attention to him) it was immediately clear that he adheres to the Party Line of the Obamanistas.
“Diversity”, my ascot! There needs to be a purge in the Army, starting with this perfumed prince, who now lives in a million dollar house in one of the most exclusive DC suburbs. He is totally out of touch with reality and the common soldier.
Who's safer, a Christian in the Saudi military or a Muslim in the U.S. military? Obviously a stupid question since there would be no Christian in an Islamic military.
I agree Casey needs to go. The families of the dead soldiers should demand it.
Casey Jr. is a different animal: political from the git-go, with with a B.S. in International Relations and an M.A. in International Studies from Georgetown and the University of Denver, respectively.
The ''thing'' he said we ''don't want to see happen'' actually did happen last Thursday afternoon. And fretting that ''our diversity'' might become a casualty -- and characterizing that casualty as a ''shame'' and ''as great a tragedy'' as the murders -- is a vile insult to the flesh-and-blood victims of a sworn enemy in the Army's own ranks.
Junior is an embarrassment to his late father, a rancid disgrace to his rank and his commission, and a traitor to his country.
Revolting.
But, not surprising.
It also dovetails into Barry’s pro Al Queda ROEs that makes our soldiers in Afghanistan sacrifice their safety and already
in some cases, their lives-
because “ we can’t risk “ hurting the locals or damaging their property.
Four Marines were sacrificed on Barry’s PC altar in August.
“ U.S. commanders, citing new rules to avoid civilian casualties,
rejected repeated calls to unleash artillery rounds at attackers dug into the slopes and tree lines
despite being told repeatedly that they weren’t near the village.”

Our soldiers have to retreat instead of engaging the enemy.
We don’t bomb assembled Taliban -” we buzz them “ from on high ,
so they “ vamoose.”
