casey

You have to view this segment of the Meet the Press interview with Army chief of staff General George Casey to believe it -- to believe that our army could be led by someone as incompetent in national security matters as this man showed he was, first by claiming that the army hadn't "missed anything" in regard to the in-your-face warning signs exhibited by Major Hasan that he was a fanatical Muslim jihadist and an imminent threat to massacre our troops, by admitting that the army's diversity policies had trumped its security policies, and worst of all by making this statement:

"As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse."

Finishes up by saying “We as an army have to be broad enough to bring in people from all walks of life.” Sure, Islamic terrorists, white supremacists, gangstas, MS-13, Chicoms. Diversity is our strength.

It is naive to think that firing General Casey would change the situation in the least. He is just following orders. Anyone the Obama administration puts in that position will do exactly the same thing, or worse. The only difference is that they may be more dishonest about it.

The problem is not General Casey, the problem is the Obama administration.

Goes to show....government is permeating every aspect of our lives, including the military. If I were the general, I would have said what I thought, but in his defense, he may have been TOLD what to say. When I look back at many of our generals, I dont see such krap coming out of them. That’s because they didn’t have a President or his henchmen controlling their thoughts.

By the way, just found out that Ft. Hood (or at least the area where the shootings took place) is a “gun-free zone?” These folks had no weapons...they had to wait for a civilian police officer to come in and rescue them. Another example of government meddling in military affairs.

My Dad who spent the majority of his adult life in the military (WWII, Korean War, and Viet Nam War) always said that the brass and the politicals always treated the welfare of the men as a political game.

I remember hearing my folks talk about how disgusted they were about being political pawns.

A member of the Joint Chiefs who follows administration orders with which he profoundly disagrees should resign. So, Casey either agrees with the policies or is willing to compromise his principals to keep his job. Either way, he is no leader.

The military isn’t the place for social experimentation or any so-called ‘diversity’, General - especially for muslims.

There should be no place in our Armed Forces for a group of people whose primary allegiance is to the koran, not the United States of America.

How many more dead Americans do we have to have before you understand that simple fact?

Casey’s Outrage from Commentary by Linda Chavez

Political correctness doesn’t begin to describe Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey Jr.’s outrageous comments, as alluded to by Jennifer, on the Sunday-morning talk shows concerning the Fort Hood massacre. Asked by ABC’s George Stephanopolous whether the Army had “dropped the ball” in not recognizing that Hasan had become increasingly radical, Casey repeated the official mantra of the Obama administration, that we shouldn’t “jump to conclusions” based on what he described as “early tidbits” about Hasan’s motives (say, shouting “Allahu Akbar” before firing 100 rounds of ammunition into his fellow soldiers).

Taken at his word, Casey’s chief concern seems to be not protecting American soldiers from death at the hands of a jihadist in their midst, but preventing a “backlash” against “diversity.”

The speculation could heighten the backlash. What happened at Ft. Hood is a tragedy and I believe it would be a greater tragedy if diversity became a casualty here.

Casey made similar statements on CBS and NBC. The statements were offensive on several levels. It’s as if our leaders — civilian and, in this case, military — believed that Americans are a pack of bigots who’ll be beating up innocent Muslims on the streets and vandalizing mosques if given the least excuse. That hasn’t happened, even in the aftermath of 9/11. In fact, Jews are nearly eight times as likely to be victims of religiously motivated hate crimes as Muslims are, according to FBI statistics. In 2007, the last year for which figures are available, 133 such crimes were reported against Muslims, compared with 1,010 against Jews.

The only ones jumping to conclusions about Hasan’s motives seem to be those in government. From President Obama on down, including the military chain of command, government officials seem to want to squelch legitimate questions about the role that Hasan’s religious views played in his decision to open fire at Fort Hood. That kind of willful myopia will breed suspicion and distrust among the American people and put servicemen and women at risk. And if Gen. Casey truly believes that “diversity” is more important than protecting his troops, he should hang up his uniform.

And many here wonder what has happened to our military? The real courageous leaders are AWOL.

Unbelievable!!! The only thing the USA Government can do is worry about the Backlash against Islam’s!

The only thing that changed to cause this bloodbath was the date for his deployment to Iraq. This date forced the Islam Terrorists to accelerate their plans so as to avoid wasting this highly placed and highly trained Asset!

Casey must be FIRED IMMEDIATELY! HE is an outrage!

General Casey [Ramesh Ponnuru]

Mark Steyn and Roger Clegg have already mentioned his (repeated!) claim that it would add to the tragedy of Ft. Hood if “diversity” were to become a casualty. This is the same Gen. Casey who strongly resisted the surge in Iraq. Bad judgment at home and abroad.

"As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse."

Political correctness has infested practically every institution in the US, including the military (in fact, it might have 'led' the nation in that regard). Casey is just a well indoctrinated, PC bureaucrat of the sort that infests every nook and cranny of our federal government. Diversity is the highest goal for his sort. Common sense has no place in the thinking of Casey and others like him.

Hopefully the atrocity committed at Fort Hood will peel back at least a layer or two of the PC lunacy so well illustrated by Casey, Obama, Napolitano, and others, and the MSM, and maybe the country can begin to reverse it.

Every once in awhile I like to think about what would happen if Christians were rampaging thru Iran or Syria. How many diversity speeches and calls for tolerance would be given?

Who's safer, a Christian in the Saudi military or a Muslim in the U.S. military? Obviously a stupid question since there would be no Christian in an Islamic military.

I agree Casey needs to go. The families of the dead soldiers should demand it.

Casey's father, George Sr. (USMA '45), served honorably in Vietnam.

Casey Jr. is a different animal: political from the git-go, with with a B.S. in International Relations and an M.A. in International Studies from Georgetown and the University of Denver, respectively.

The ''thing'' he said we ''don't want to see happen'' actually did happen last Thursday afternoon. And fretting that ''our diversity'' might become a casualty -- and characterizing that casualty as a ''shame'' and ''as great a tragedy'' as the murders -- is a vile insult to the flesh-and-blood victims of a sworn enemy in the Army's own ranks.

Junior is an embarrassment to his late father, a rancid disgrace to his rank and his commission, and a traitor to his country.

Revolting.
But, not surprising.
It also dovetails into Barry’s pro Al Queda ROEs that makes our soldiers in Afghanistan sacrifice their safety and already
in some cases, their lives-
because “ we can’t risk “ hurting the locals or damaging their property.
Four Marines were sacrificed on Barry’s PC altar in August.
“ U.S. commanders, citing new rules to avoid civilian casualties,
rejected repeated calls to unleash artillery rounds at attackers dug into the slopes and tree lines —
despite being told repeatedly that they weren’t near the village.”
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/75036.html

Our soldiers have to retreat instead of engaging the enemy.
We don’t bomb assembled Taliban -” we buzz them “ from on high ,
so they “ vamoose.”
