Rep. Cao to Steele: You Need Me
ABC ^ | 11/9/09 | Rick Klein

Posted on 11/09/2009 9:50:42 AM PST by Nachum

Rickkleinblogpic ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: The decision by Rep. Joseph Cao, R-La., to vote for the Democrats’ health care bill last night would put him directly in the Republican Party’s firing line, under the standard enunciated by RNC Chairman Michael Steele last week.

On ABCNews.com’s “Top Line” last week, Steele said of Republicans who support President Obama on health care or the stimulus bill: “So candidates who live in moderate to slightly liberal districts have got to walk a little bit carefully here, because you do not want to put yourself in a position where you’re crossing that line on conservative principles, fiscal principles, because we’ll come after you.”

No, Anh — we do not need you.

I would much rather have a Democrat holding your seat than a Republican whom we cannot trust.

How about if Cao goes back to Vietnam? I’m sure they’ll have room for him in a re-education camp.

BS. When we need you, you vote Dem. If we ever need you, you will simply switch parties and rake in the payoff like Dede did in NY-23.

We don't need you but in a 75% Democrat registered district, you need us.

Don't let the door hit your butt on the way out Cao.

Having an R by your name and voting with the D’s is USELESS you nit.

When will these RINO (Dede, you listening?) figure this out? YOU ARE USELESS to Republicans if you vote like a Democrat.

When uyou had DEMOCRATS voting against this bill, this creep’s protests ring hallow.

REMMEBER: we ARE having an effect. When the GOP RNC calls for contributions, tell them NO because you contribute DIRECTLY to conservative candidates and don’t want your money given to traitors like Cao and Snowe.

He ran as a republican only because his opponent, “Cold Cash” Jefferson already had the democrat nomination.

Agree on the latter, but disagree on the former.

Cao's probably a pretty smart guy. Figures that he can't keep his seat as a Republican, and can't just switch and expect to get the Dem nomination.

So what does he do? He picks a big ol' public fight with the Party on not only the core policy issue of this Congress, but also with the Party itself. So when he DOES switch parties to run as a Dem, and he'll do so by letting loose a scathing critique of how the GOP is dominated by the "Teabaggers", "Extremists", etc (ie, use the language and terminology of the other side) the Dems are going to love the him.

Yeah cow we need you, like a bleeding hemmoroid.............go be true to your self, be a democrat and truly let those who have and will vote for you know your soul..........and speaking of souls many will be taken by my tax dollars because of your vote.

You see if I allow my taxes to go to this health care plan I am responsible too........

Our votes mean things just like words do............no more of these guys.

We didn't need him. His vote didn't make a difference. Now, if Hoffman won and that Pub in Calif won, well then it would have mattered.

Absolutely correct.

By the way, I’d like to point out that BOTH parts of that strategy are vital.

DON’T contribute to the RNC. But DON’T FAIL to CONTRIBUTE to those conservative candidates as well.

“Ciao Cao.”

Yep! His replacements name is Cedric Richmond. The black preachers boy. He and Pelosi will be bosom buddies and he will make Jefferson look like a Statesman.

The Conservative (i.e., “real”) Republicans need Cao like the Continental Army under Gen. Washington needed Benedict Arnold.

It’s hard to believe he would go along with this.

He has quite a sympathetic & impressive background/family history. Kind of ironic that he escaped communism only to come to the U.S. and support socialism.

You’re right. I think that he is more opportunistic than principled. He was already a dead politician walking with the Black Preacher executioners ready to throw the switch.

As a corollary to your post, I would suggest that when anyone DOES make a contribution to an individual conservative Republican, that mail a COPY of the check to the RNC and LET THEM KNOW what they are doing.

It might help to straighten those people out.
