Democrat Who Voted No on Pelosi Health Bill Says It Will ‘Ultimately Lead to a Single-Payer System’

Rep. Dan Boren (D-Okla.), who voted against the Pelosi health-care reform bill that was approved by the House yesterday, said he did so because it raises taxes and will lead to a single-payer health care system in the United States.

The bill—the “Affordable Health Care for America Act”—passed the House late on Saturday evening. The final vote was 220 to 215. Thirty-nine House Democrats voted against the proposal and only one Republican, freshman Rep. Joseph Cao of Louisiana, voted for it.

In town hall meetings in August, Boren told constituents he would not support a health care bill that raised taxes on small businesses or that included a public option.

“While I support improving health care access for all Oklahomans, just as I told constituents in August, I cannot vote for the health care bill that is currently before the House of Representatives,” Boren said in a statement explaining his vote.

“The worst thing we could do during a recession is raise taxes and this bill does just that,” said Boren.

“I also believe the public option would ultimately lead to a single-payer health care system,” Boren added.

“Although I support eliminating health insurance companies’ ability to deny applicants coverage based on pre-existing conditions, this 2,000-page and $1 trillion bill, is just not the answer to America’s health care problems,” said Boren.

No s***.
That has been the entire purpose since day one.
It is of no use to the radical socialist left, without absolute government control. It really has nothing to do with health care — just power and control.

The bill—the “Affordable Health Care for America Act”

Even the name of the bill is a LIE. The 1,990 pages that follow are LIES.

Not to mention it is another JOB KILLER by their own admission. I suppose it will increase the prison population and they will need new guards though (sarc)

And in ten years, your health will be, ah, “monitored” so you don’t do anything very drastic. Eat too much ice cream, get taxed. Drink beer? Get taxed. Smoke? Get taxed (again). Don’t go to Pelosi’s mandatory P.E. class in the morning? Get TAXED.

Nanotechnology will make monitoring possible.

- No, they will need new SLAVES. You won’t be viewed as someone who rebelled patriotically against Obamacare. You’ll be viewed as a traitor and tax evader by the general population. And then put out on the chain gang. Free slaves!

There was a guy who got arrested in LA a few years back (I think it was LA) for taking a piss on the side of the road. He had the “sex offender” label in prison. The prison population only hears about the “offender” label..not the reason why you got the label in the first place. Same with tax evasion labels.

Pelosi needs to not only be voted out, she needs to be arrested, tried, and sent to prison.

Of course it leads to a single payer system. The bill itself makes new private insurance policies impossible to get in 2013. Who will insure everyone who retires, changes jobs, wants to get new insurance, etc.? Of oourse, the government.

The left’s entire ideology is based on a lie about the nature of man,
so it is no wonder that they live and breathe in the world of lies.

Well, it’s not enough to vote no. The Dems that are in tight races will have to publicly and forcefully stand against Obama. This congressman seems to get it and is getting a head start on his race for political survival.

Time to stock up on the popcorn.

Good luck voting out Ponzi-losi. The only way she's leaving Congress is feet first.

It will eventually lead to a single payer system?

Well yeah, that is the liberal plan.

As the only Democrat representing Oklahoma in DC, Boren walks a tight line. No doubt he was given permission to vote against the bill by the Democrat powers that be.

*************

No joke — it WILL add to prison population (if they can catch us) but would most certainly ensure jobs for building contractors since prison space is at a premium as it is.

We will be totally owned by govt. and most jobs will involve the communists’ control over the half of the country that resists its clutches.

No problem, eh? /sarc

Like “Dorian Gray,” I can’t wait to watch the face of this witch crack and crumble when she is eventually defeated and prosecuted...this evil piece of crap who is trying to bring this country down to her power-hungry level...when she gets down to the level of my shoe, like a bug I will make quick work of her.

IMHO.

Just as another example of the upside down, truthless world that libs live in -

“more prisons doesn’t solve the root cause of crime” when the criminals are acting against the norms of traditional society,

but they’ll certainly make sure there’s enough prison space (or death camps) for the “criminals” that don’t comply with their dictates.

Exactly.

The left like to point to Europe as a whole and especially socialist medicine utopias like Sweden, Norway, etc. as the healthcare blueprint for the US. The problems is, the US is a huge non-homogeneous society. Americans are also unwilling at this point to hand over the majority of their income in taxes to the government in order to secure similar services. What works (not really) for them will not work here.
