“Castle Doctrine” Self-Defense Bill to be Considered in Pennsylvania Next Week! (Call legislators!)

On Thursday, November 19, the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee will consider House Bill 40.

http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=5205

HB40, sponsored by State Representative Scott Perry (R-92), would permit law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their homes and any places outside of their home where they have a legal right to be. It is clearly stated that there would be no “duty to retreat” from an attacker, allowing law-abiding citizens to stand their ground to protect themselves and their family. HB40 would also protect individuals from civil lawsuits by the attacker or the attacker’s family when force is used.

If you would like to testify, please contact the House Judiciary Committee at (717) 787-3525.

Please contact the members of the House Judiciary Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to support HB40. Contact information can be found below.

We enjoy exactly these liberties and protections here in Nevada.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

It will be Veto-City, USA, if it passes, I fear.

Good luck. I hope it passes in PA.

Texas has a “castle doctrine” law — a strong one. It’s real good for keeping the crime rate down.

This little addendum is HUGE. We have this now in Texas, and with all of the exposure to liberal insanity we read about--willingly, gleefully--here on FR, it strikes as bizarre that a law so practical, so RIGHT, could even exist today.

If we can get it out of committee we have the votes to pass it in both the house and senate. Remember PA is a pro-gun state except for Philadelphia and mayors who think legal gunowners are responsible for illegals who use illegal guns to commit crime.

Are we veto proof - maybe

I hope that they define that the interior of a person’s vehicle is “an extension of his Castle” and that landowner/municipality jurisdiction over its contents ends at the plane where the tires touch the pavement.

This is how it began earlier this year. Large, peaceful gathering of informed voters visiting their representatives in Harrisburg.
