Presidents get elected to run the nation. Some days that means knowing how to heal it.
For the first time since winning the White House, President Barack Obama faces such a moment Tuesday at Fort Hood. After a shooting that left 13 people dead and 29 wounded on the bustling Texas Army post, it is Obama's job to offer some comfort, if not answers.
Obama will do so privately with the families of those killed, and then publicly at a memorial service sure to be watched by American troops around the world.
It is his time to take on the healer-in-chief role that can help shape a presidency at a time of national tragedy...

He already showed his cards at the press conference the day of the shooting. The ignoramus was giving a "shout out" to a "Congressional Medal of Honor winner" who didn't even hold the honor. Come to find out the medal that he did receive Obama put it around his neck!!
He could care less about these soldiers and their families. He will have his teleprompter set up to tell him what to say and when to shed a tear. It will all be a staged show.

If I was a family member of one of these victims of terrorism, I would ask Sheik Obama why the obvious signs of an impending problem were ignored at any number of levels. I realize I would never get an honest answer from him, but I would really like to watch him squirm.
They had to build a wall to protect HIM who has failed to protect Americans.
I’m sure whatever he does, he will focus on himself. That neausiating video of him playing soldier at Dover AFB using the casket of a fallen soldier as a media prop is prime example.

...above all else,to prevent another Joe the Plumber moment...Yes, I realize the privacy concerns and appreciate the protocol of grieving families.....but which reason is more likely? I remember President Reagan walking down the line of families of Marines lost in Lebanon,comforting,hugging, and sharing their grief with Nancy. The recent midnight photo opt granted by one family backfired....guess we'll have to wait to see if anymore "shout outs" occur today. TOTUS is studying the speech.....my guess is we will hear the word "conclusions" more than "failure" or "terror" today
If there was time and a way to show a winner, I would suggest starting a pool on the percentage of his "grief speech" words will include the usual "I's" and "Me's"
It is all about him and I imagine this little dog and pony show will insure a few points bump in his popularity
I only wish there was one family member of the injured/killed who would refuse to meet this terrorist-enabler/appeaser and would dare go public with their protest.

Anyone remember how the media excoriated Bush for "just" flying over New Orleans while it was happening. Now they think it's OK for the CinC to finally show up days after the worst tragedy on a military base in history that happened during HIS WATCH!

The nation has completely ignored him since his shout out in terms of "healing".
I think this is the moment people start to realize he is a cold "intellectual" (which doesn't mean he is very intelligent--big difference) who sees the world as a series of 0's and 1's. He has the goal of opening the door to socialism, through the health care issue, and nothing is going to turn him from achieving that goal.
If and when his plans fail, what the hell will he do with himself for the rest of his term? It's all he cares about, because once he achieves that goal, he will be able to rest as the greatest hero of the American left, ever, for what he began--the control of the individual by the state.
