State police are responding to an “incident” there that sheriff’s deputy T.J. Hanlon describes as “very fluid.”
Hanlon would not comment on the nature of the incident.
According to a report, there is a gunman who is negotiating with police.
Nearby resident Bill Moore said he’s watched about 14 police vehicles drive by his home this morning as of 8:30 a.m. He lives a few miles away from the high school, he said.
“We’ve been counting them as they go by because normally for an accident you might have two or three cars,” he said.
Moore said he’s seen about four New York State Trooper vehicles, one Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and several unmarked police cars with lights flashing in the area.
Hanlon said police have surrounded the school.
Pine Plains is about 90 miles north of New York City.
Radio said no kids are hurt, principle is being held hostage by the gunman now.
As I have said before why does all hell break loose (shootings kaos) only happen when democrats are POTUS?

PINE PLAINS -- A man in his 40s is holding a middle school principal hostage in his office at the school, according to police on the scene.
The man, who officers said graduated from the district in the 1980s was said to have emotional issues.
Police said the man entered Stissing Mountain Middle School this morning with a rifle, went into a men’s bathroom and eventually found his way to the principal’s office.
At this time, he remains there with the principal.
No shots have been fired, according to police.
Some kids have been evacuated. Parents are now being briefed

I grew up a few miles from Pine Plains. Back in the 1960’s and 1970’s, many of the students and faculty carried a rifle and/or shotgun in their car or truck, particularly this time of the year when many of us went bird or deer hunting before and after school. Back then, a ‘gun incident” was missing a twelve point buck at 100 yards or less.
If it was an act of ROP or “Man Made Disasterism”, we’d be talking about a body count by now.
I doubt it. But I do think last week’s shooting has encouraged borderline cases to actually do what they’ve contemplated doing.
Please narrow down the location of Pine Plains. I always hate when the term Upstate NY used.

Even so, this is a school, I doubt anyone would have any guns even if they weren’t highly regulated.

Northeast Dutchess County, which is the third county directly north of New York City on the east side of the Hudson River. The area remains quite rural despite the number of a-holes from NYC who have purchased weekend houses in that area.

Doubtful, reports are that there are no casualties so far. If this was a ROPOS, there would be plenty of dead already.

Agreed wholeheartedly but the shootings have been seemingly more numerous.
The supposed attack on a TX high rise thwarted and set up? by our FBI and now Fort Hood. Will the POTUS admit a terrorist attack and take action, is more key to the issue.
LOL!! I understand what your mean, but if you lived in upstate NY like I do, you want that term used. It distinguishes us from the downstate Commiecrats. NY sucks in general, but upstate is the “OK” part. Downstate is just a Socialist cesspool for the most part.

People seem to term “upstate NY” meaning anything north of NYC. Pine Plains is about an hour and a half north of NYC. Its a rural area.
They have a vid on fox..of them driving him, to who knows where..its been going on for 15 minutes. If they are taking him to Poughkeepsie, like they thought they might be..that will be another 15 minutes of watching a car drive on a rural road.

We will know more about this guy’s church, his “affiliations” his reading habits and his life and there will be nothing but speculation as to his motives by lunch than we will ever know about the murderous jihadist from Ft Hood..
And I’ll bet it’s one of those “safe” schools in which none of the teachers/principals are permitted to carry concealed, right? Yep. PERFECTLY safe for lunatics, terrorists and criminals. Not so safe for the law abiding.
Nobody carries guns (handguns) in NY state without a gun permit which isnt so easy to get. There would be no reason to do so in this particular area. Its a small town..and supposedly safe. But, I guess anyone, anywhere can go berzerk
