I don’t think Mitch McConnell has anything to worry about. nm

You misread the article.

“Most Kentucky political observers expected the democrats to duke it out in the senate primary while Republican Trey Grayson sat back and prepared for the fall campaign.”

It seems to me that Trey Grayson is the one who needs to be worried. I know nothing about Mr. Grayson, but this guy is a quasi libertarian. If I lived in that sate, he is the one I would support.

From the comments:

"Rand Paul has been a Kentucky resident longer then Trey Grayson has been a Republican! Trey Grayson voted for Bill Clinton!"

Both the RNC and DNC have bought into this notion that primaries are bad for the party candidate once the general election starts. I think a hotly contested primary is a good thing as long as it doesn't transcend into a knife fight. Seems to me that Grayson should be worried as you pointed out, and can't argue with much of what Mr Paul is saying.

Bill Clinton ran a more conservative race than Bush the first. Of course it was all BS. Bush was also reaping the “Read my lips, no new taxes” calamity. Electing Clinton also resulted in total Republican control (which they unfortunately squandered like a drunk on payday.)

And if the Republicans can overtake again, they had better start dismantling this obese government. If they don’t, it’ll be third party time. Liars, whether Dem or Rep, can’t be tolerated any longer. My children deserve much better.

Thank You!

Electing Clinton also resulted in total Republican control (which they unfortunately squandered like a drunk on payday.)

Usually when people talk about squandered dollars they're picking on us drunken sailors.

Thanks for the break.
