For many good Muslims, there is a big difference between what they can do with other Muslims, and what they can do with infidels.
There is also a big difference between what they can do in a place with Sharia law and what they can do in Vegas.
Especially for the educated Muslim, it is necessary to keep that split personality between the sacred and the profane.

This is shameless amateur armchair psychology, but it strikes me that individuals who seek to maintain this split are the ones most likely to crack. They likely experience self-loathing from their inability to maintain standards of personal behavior that conform to their expressed religious views. They may assuage their guilt by becoming very angry at the depraved culture that “made” them act so badly by making such temptations so freely available and/or they may purge their guilt by becoming martyrs for their religion.
Suicide bombing offers them the best of all possible worlds. Whatever psychic pain they endure daily ends upon death, whatever anger they may feel towards the West is purged by an act of retribution that more than evens the score, and their self-image of a depraved individual constantly violating his own sacred religious beliefs is swapped for the much more heroic image of someone SO devoted that they are willing to die for their beliefs. And the icing on the cake is that it is the latter image that endures in the mind of family, friends and fellow members of the religious community. A trifecta!
Given the number of guys who watch porn and/or go to strip clubs, mass murderers make a tiny percentage of that population.
The whole religion is based on destroying the enenmy, in the guise of peace. How frigged up is that?!

Oh, how I wish and pray that people would read the book of the prophet, Isaiah. It could have been written to our people of today. They call evil good and good evil. They rebel and refuse to obey the creator. If you have taken the name of Christ, please read his word and heed it. If you do not, you have taken his name in vain and are not his.
You have nailed it. My experience with muslimm males is that many are very divided, full of righteous yearning for moral purity on the one hand, but abysmally lacking self-control when temptation comes along. That's the muslim world demands heavy external controls on their (and your) behavior.
So a religion requires fastidious adherence to all these crazy laws, yet its practitioners can still do stuff like this and remain in good standing? It just boggles the mind.

If you recall, some of the 911 terrorists also began going to strip clubs prior to their doom.
Perhaps it was a way to enjoy the decadent West and rid themselves of some repressions, knowing they’d become martyrs by their act of terror and presumably be forgiven their transgressions in this life.
I’ve known and worked beside many Muslims with the split life. I’ve never considered any of them anymore terrorist prone than Hindus or Bhuddists or Christians or Jews.
On the other hand, I’ve known a few Bill Ayers types who are motivated by rebelliion against their super-rich, super-powerful dad similar to what motivates Bill Ayers. I’ve considered them much more terrorist prone than the Muslims I’ve known ... and so far been proven correct.
Look at wackos blowing up SUVs and animal research facilities ... they are usually not the poor downtrodden minorities. They are usually the kids of the the rich and powerful.
