Tampa - Tasha Johnson and Markeith's fairy tale themed wedding featured a horse and carriage.
During the reception one guest became upset when the groom started tossing money onto the dance floor for the children to scoop up. Tempers flared and some pushing and shoving took place. Some of the wedding guests chose sides and that led to an all out brawl that spilled out into the parking lot. Investigators say nearly 40 people were involved.
One of the first officers to respond was hit several times while trying to break up the fights.
A manager, at The Rusty Pelican said "It was a beautiful wedding up to that point.
The fighting ruined the reception and some of the guests and wedding party members headed to their hotel nearby where the fighting erupted all over again. A woman put the groom's 74 year old grandmother, Mary Wright in a choke hold.
Wright told 10 Connects that she was trying to calm down the crowd and tell them not to fight on such a special occasion. She says that's when her attacker said "I'm going to have to choke you out."
According to detectives one of the wedding guests called a relative to come over and get involved in the brawl. Malcolm Hepburn who wasn't a wedding guest showed up and started beating up the groom's father in the hotel parking lot according to police. They say Hepburn threw Andrew Thompson to the ground and kicked him in the face and ribs.
The bride and groom were not hurt. Family members say they're now celebrating their honeymoon in the Bahamas.
Meanwhile on Monday night Andrew Thompson was heading to the emergency room. He was having trouble breathing and believes he may have some broken ribs.

I like how the honeymooners left the casualties to take care of themselves. Happy trails Tasha and Markeith.

Dear old Dad always taught me to NEVER try to “break up a fight”. He said you always end up being the bad guy, despised by the fighters. And you also risk getting punched in the head by both of them.

Honestly, I would have left too.
Neither the bride nor groom were involved. The groom started throwing money to the kids. It wasn’t like he beat up a little bugger.
As for the father, I’ll bet he told the couple to go and not lose out on their payment for it.
At my middle sister’s reception for her tenth anniversary, my older Looney sister got into it with her son. The Son had come in with his wife and kid, sitting on the opposite side from his mother. My Loon sister had to start something, THEN her lesbian lover threatened to beat the son. My nephew just said, “Get out of here you dyke.” Then my loon sister and her lover went yelling, screaming and hollering from the event.
People are stupid. It isn’t always the person inviting who has the problem.
