Dan Calabrese notices a scolding tone coming from the Associated Press in reporting its latest polling. It headlines the report by noting that “a grouchy public [is] sticking with Obama,” having seen a 54% job approval rating in its survey — but some bad numbers on the issues. Does the AP report those falling levels of support as a consequence of Barack Obama doing a poor job? No, as emphases from Dan and myself show:
The public grew slightly more dispirited on a range of matters over the past month, including war and the economy, continuing the slippage that has occurred since Obama took office, the latest Associated Press-GfK poll shows.
This comes at a time when he is trying to revive the struggling economy, considering sending more troops to the 8-year-old Afghanistan war, muscling a health care reform overhaul through Congress and hoping to push through other ambitious measures like legislation focused on climate change.

I call BS on that poll. Check their sampling data, if they have any. An honest poll would be much less favorable, I suspect.

We KNOW it will be done wrong or made worse.
I simply no longer believe these polls of Obama’s popularity. There is no way 60% of the people could dislike his policies and 54% like him. None of this makes any sense. I’m sure they will be “seasonally” adjusted next November.
The prospect of tyranny makes me grouchy. I’m funny that way.

1) He has acted to socialize the economy, thereby reassuring slow/no recovery ( Tough duty?)
2)He has been considering for four months about sending troops to Afghanistan, purposefully creating a war of attrition much the same as Vietnam.( Tough duty?)
3)Muscling a Demographic Warfare bill under the disguise of a Helath Care bill through propagandaic assault on the American public, much of which is unconstitutional.( Tough duty?)
4) Push through ambitious programs which will have a retrograde effect on industry and the taxpayers , as well as ant possibility of a free economy, pushing any economic recovery back further. ( Tough duty)
None of this is the hope and change those who voted for Obama were promised, and even the so called 54% of support comes by in large from those who have a shallow understnding of the issues and listen only to propaganda.
Look at the verbs used by Morrissey in the above quote, they indicate a jingoistic set of talking points, not journalism:
1) Revive ( a lie, none of his policies would revive the most robust dying corpse)
2) Considering ( a lie, 4 months of considering after invoking hazardous Rules of Engagement , resulting in the increased death rate of our soldiers needlessly. This is not considering, its obfuscation bordering on treason.)
3) Muscling ( true, never has our legislative process been less democratic.)
4) Push through ( true, never has our executiive process been subkect to unilateral executive orders designed to destroy the current infrastructure of our political, economic and social systems. Immigration is a case in point, censorship of the press another,and spinning human genocide at Fort Hood yet another)
Revive, Consider, muscle and push through.(Obama doesn't give a fiddlers f—k what the harangued citizenry desperately need or want, its all about neo-socialist ideology.)
Relish 50% Obama. It won't last much longer.
