GOOGLE BREAKS TRADITION AND HONORS AMERICA

Wow.
Somebody contact Google and applaud them for customizing their logo to honor veterans, and this after celebrating Sesame Street for the past week. They dropped their usual PC party, for at least one day, to actually pay tribute to America's veterans with a touching logo involving a faceless veteran with a child at his feet, looking up, and saluting.
Back on Lincoln's birthday, last year, they had to celebrate Darwin's birthday instead. I was speechless until more inappropriate language came to mind. And with subsequent custom logos that alert surfers to a special day, their left-leaning web artwork has advertised their values as well. But today I guess there was no Marxist or rock star, born on November 11, to celebrate. Or, in wake of the Fort Hood shootings, it would be obviously bad form to supplant something patriotic with a logo reflecting "world citizenship" or tolerance of those with "different" world views.
Either way, I appreciate what they did on this day, however short-lived. Who knows? Maybe we'll find out Che Guevera was born on November 12th tomorrow, eh?

Looks like the pressure created by the massacre at Ft. Hood was too much for them.

Yesterday, I ditched google as my start page, after years of using them.
Last night, I saw the google 'droid' commercial - with the crashing meteorites. As the farmer walks up and the capsule opens, all I could think of was ...
"Sunny days, chasing the clouds away..."

Go to Bing.com today. Better images. Better searches. And much more pro-American than Google.

Look how cheesy and half-assed even this tribute is.
To: EternalVigilance
I observed it even before this post. Same with Bing.
But of course, MSFT (Bing)and Google advised obama on his election so F*** em’.
To: Incorrigible
Yup looks like Google was forced into being a little patriotic by Bing's example. Kind of like MSDNC and CNN having to report on ACORN after FNC made it the 800 lb. gorilla.

Remember you are not dealing with a living thing. Google is a business pure and simple. It’s managers try to give a profitable service. I guess nothing post modern caught their fancy today.

No, honoring veterans is PC too, so this is no surprise from Google. They’ve probably done the same thing in previous years. The left likes to think of veterans as scarred victims of the US war machine. Thus they are a victim class, so the left is willing to honor them — as long as the jingoistic notion that our military personnel might do any actual good in the world doesn’t creep into the message. In other words, the left is willing to acknowledge their suffering and their sacrifice, but not their achievements.

Bing sucks.
Search images on Bing for "Obama Failure".
Bing results:
IMAGES 1-15 of 28,200 results SafeSearch off( Change )
Same search on Google:
Results 1 - 18 of about 8,670,000 (0.21 seconds)
So the numbers indicate Google is about eight million times better than Bing.
To: Hans
It is run by people, though, who make editorial decisions.
And since when have wealthy liberals cared about business concerns when it comes to pushing their leftist ideology?
If that was their primary concern there would never be a leftwing movie that came out of Hollywood. They’d practically all be patriotic family fare.

That's a pretty dumb statement.
Ok... now...
Since you look at the artificial numbers from the search results as your guidance to determine which of the search engines is better...
Why don't you go ahead and examine each and every one of those Google search results and report back to us about the relevancy of each one of them. Then do the same with the Bing results.
Chances are that you won't get very far until the result start repeating and start looking very meaningless.
When it comes to Bing's result count of 28,000 versus the 8 million from Google, which one do you think will have the more relevant results and which one do you think will get you a hit on what it is that you're looking for?
The search result count is meaningless and is there mostly as a marketing tool and to impress people into thinking that Google's search engine is better. You are buying into a lie.

Because Microsoft censors, arguably to a much greater extent.
Microsoft and Chinese Censorship. (^) Oh, and they not only do it inside China, but they censored outside China if your search was typed in simple Chinese.
Bing also censors questions about Microsoft. Is Bing Censoring Questions About Microsoft? (^)
Bing also censors results about sex, and not only in China. Sex searches censored on Microsoft Bing (^)
As of two days ago, Microsoft was busy trying to censor a critic who pointed out a large flaw in the Bing cash-back program. Why Microsoft was wrong to silence Bing cashback whistleblower (^)
