MARLOW HEIGHTS, Md. - U.S. Park Police say a man was fatally struck by two U.S. Secret Service vehicles at a Suitland Parkway intersection.
Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley says the two armored vehicles were traveling from Andrews Air Force Base to a Washington garage when the pedestrian was hit around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Naylor Road in Temple Hills.
Wiley says the vehicles were returning from a vice presidential trip to Fort Lewis in Washington state. He says the Secret Service employees driving the vehicles immediately stopped to help the man.

Peon! Serf! Didn’t he know enough to get out of the way of ‘The One?’
(And hit TWICE? Good Lord!)
I think you mean "The Two" (Biden)...
I hope they didn’t let Biden drive.
Prayers for the dead man’s family.
Hillary Clinton, Tom Lantos, Ellen Taucher, Feinstein's husband Blum, I think there's more, and they usually don't stop for any reason.
Yeah, they don’t call him “Number Two” for nothing. He’s full of number two!
Seriously, this is starting to sound a lot like a Tale of Two Cities.
‘The One in Training?’ *SHIVER*
If it was a Kennedy, it’s normal. But this is “The Won” we’re talking about.
Did Joe Biden get out of the limo and say "STAND UP CHUCK?"
Sorry...gallows humor.
I could have gone ALL DAY LONG without that thought in my head.
But nooooooo...
The Minus One................
Don’t forget Kennedy(s)..................
That's odd for a pedestrian to be there. It's HIGH traffic intersection with virtually no pedestrians anywhere - in fact, there's really nothing at that intersection except open field, unless I'm thinking of another intersection.
Bet it never makes the main stream fringe media.
At 0230?

“The Number Two”
Biden continually and wrongfully claimed that the driver of the truck that hit his first wife’s car was drunk. He’ll probably claim this pedestrian was drunk too.
I didn't even notice the time. But, that makes it even more peculiar. These are really two multi-lane parkways, especially Suitland. What is a guy doing at that intersection at that time of the morning? Unless of course he's drunk and wondering aimlessly. There's a train station right there at that intersection, and just a few hundred feet away, there's a huge urban nightclub as well.
From satellite view, your assessment seems accurate:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Suitland+Parkway+and+Naylor+Road,+Temple+Hills,+md&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=35.768112,78.310547&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Suitland+Pkwy+%26+Naylor+Rd,+Marlow+Heights,+Prince+George%27s,+Maryland+20748&ll=38.851398,-76.959121&spn=0.004295,0.009559&t=h&z=17
Yep, that’s it. If you look at that map, you’ll see something called “Legend Nightclub”. It’s a live-music nightclub. At 2:30 in the morning, I’m guessing it’s a drunk that wondered away from that nightclub.
Bingo.
America.
Certainly not. Just imagine if this had been a vehicle returning from a VP Cheney event....
Ok, one vehicle hitting him is an accident but two vehicles?!?
“...and wondering aimlessly...”
I think we’ve all been ‘wondering aimlessly’ for about a year now, LOL!

When all else fails, drive into the river,
leave the scene and act confused.
A large intersection in the dark and the type of people who hang out or live in the area are prone to ignore traffic signals.
There is no or little lighting on that part of the Parkway.
Hmmmm.....Remember the fun the libs had with Dick Cheney’s hunting accident?Ain’t karma a b*tch!
Seems it would have been more fitting if it were an Amtrack train.
#2 it is.
Don’t forget Rick Sanchez
My question also.
They travel very fast and very close together. The routes are usually shut down ahead of them too so this guy probably had some clue something was coming along. It’s sort of like getting run over by a parade.
He was apparently rushing to fix another gaffe.
It doesn’t sound like the vehicles had any VIPs in them. They were taking the vehicles back to a garage in DC, so it doesn’t sound like the road would have been shut down.
That’s right - they were returning to a garage.
I posted this story, in part, to show the discrepancy in how the media covers stories from different administrations. There is a distinct double standard.
Well, it’s unfortunate the man was killed, but I guarantee he was stoned or drunk. And I’d bet he ran out in the way of the vehicle(s) all of which are driven (and manned) by Secret Service, not the POTUS or VPOTUS.
There is NO missing a presidential or vice presidential motorcade. It’s an entire fleet of limos, vans, etc. All the cross streets are blocked off along the entire route. It’s a royal pain, actually, if you get caught in one.
Do you remember, some years ago the Clintons were flying from someplace out West to NYC for (as I recall) his 60th birthday extravaganza at Madison Square Garden when one of the accompanying aircraft for cargo, etc., crashed? Several were killed. It rated a 1” article in the WaPo.
RIP.
I’m sure Biden will make some hysterically ghoulish remark about all this.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Let’s be fair.
This was NOT The Motorcade. It was vehicles dispatched from the motorcade and returning home.
2nd of all, even if it was the actual motorcade for the VP, it’s not his fault. It wasn’t even a limo.
Yes, I agree, let’s be fair.
I never said it was the motorcade or that the VP had anything to do with it.
After reading the replies here, I had to post that to set them all straight. Often, replying to “#1” means you’re making a general comment, and not really replying to the Original Poster. ;-)
It’s right out of “A Tale of Two Cities” - some peasant got run over by a nobleman’s coach and the nobleman flung out some coins and went along his way.
It was ‘the worst of times’ for this guy, to be sure. ;)
What did the victim know and when did he know it?
Tom Wolf - Bonfire of the Vanities.:)
Made into a very bad movie...
He coined the term “masters of the universe”
