Hasan did not formally seek to leave military, Army official says
Washington Post ^ | November 11, 2009 | Ann Scott Tyson

The Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people last week at Fort Hood, Tex., did not formally seek to be discharged as a conscientious objector or for any other reason, an Army official said, despite claims by one of his relatives that he had sought to leave the service.

It’s not that difficult for an Officer to leave the military.

It's a piece of cake. I submitted my resignation, and was a civilian within two months. Of course, I had already fulfilled my service commitment...four years prior.

Hasan owed the government at least four years, as taxpayers paid for his training. In his case, it would not have been enough to buy his way out by paying the Army back for his education.

What this piece of info says is that this wasn't just some guy caught between a rock and a hard place who "cracked" (not that most of us ever thought that it was). This was, beyond a doubt, a planned, cold-blooded, murderous assault.

That one cousin of Hasan’s is responsible for practically all the misinformation in the media. That he got a lawyer to get him out of the service, that he was constantly harassed by his fellow soldiers and that he was a “Good American”.

The only problem with this is that, given the Army’s inability to even recognize a terrorist in its midst, they might not want anyone to think he formally applied for removal and they did nothing.

General Casey’s actions following the attack make it hard to trust anything that comes from the top right now.

If Casey's so hung up on "diversity", it can only mean that the end of "don't ask, don't tell" is nigh.

I'm not surprised, but I also think the whole issue was irrelevant to begin with. Even if he did try to get out and wasn't allowed to do so, and even if he was feeling "pressure" because of that, it doesn't even begin to explain, much less excuse, his donning of traditional Arab garb and mercilessly slaughtering a dozen people while shouting "Allah Akhbar!". That's not "cracking under the pressure," that's sending a deliberate message.

Does anyone seriously believe he wouldn't have done this, or something like it, had he been allowed out of the Army? The man is a terrorist and a traitor and should be treated as such.

Why would this POS want to “leave the military?”

He probably wouldn’t have been able to murder 13 on an ARMY base in America if he had left the military...and we’ve got more than a THOUSAND other muzzies in American uniform.

You know, both Hasan and John Allen Muhammad swore an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same".

Apparently, their allegiance to Allah, the moon rock godlette of blood and stealthy murder, overrode their oath...

One forgotten fine officer who has remained unnamed and his reasoning unexplored is the commander who gave Hasan a bad Officer Efficiency Report (OER). At least it was reported in the initial days that he had received an adverse OER.

That man defied Gen Casey’s political correctness. I’m interested in whether he’s still in the Army, whether he suffered repercussions, and where exactly he downgraded Hasan on that form. I want to know where he blocked him (Middle of the pack or below) and the words used and boxes checked on the rest of the OER.

For any other officer, absent political correctness, such an OER meant that this commander was putting paper in Hasan’s file that would guarantee he eventually would be put out of service and go no higher in rank. (Hasan owed the Army a number of years yet due to all the free education. Despite that, this commander voted for Hasan to be gone.)

Why have we heard nothing about this commander?

The GAO reports that 425 servicemen and women made applications for Conscientious Objector status from 2002 to 2006, many as a result of the War on Terror.

Hasan WOULD have been required to pay back his training costs to the Army. He could have applied for the Guard or Army Reserve to remain stateside. BUT he could have gotten out if he truly wanted to.

It does not give this sack of sh!t ANY cover to kill 13 American soldiers so he wouldn't have to participate in the killing of his “fellow” Muslims.

It’s not that difficult for an Officer to leave the military.

It is if you have a service commitment, which Hasan may have had due to the Army providing him with an education.

He also PCSd (changed bases from Walter Reed to Ft Hood) and took a promotion to Major. I don’t’ know about the Army, but in the Air Force, that got me a three year ADSC (Active Duty Service Commitment).

True. But I assume that the Army is like the Marine Corps, you refuse a promotion and you will NOT be sent to combat - especially if you are an officer, because your thought processes will be suspect.

He didn’t want out of the Army. He was making too much money and he was able to do what he wanted. As soon as the military wanted him to “earn” that paycheck in a combat zone, he (just like MOST conscientious objectors) realize that they can’t fulfill their oath. None them come to this realization BEFORE the military pays them for 3+ years and trains them in a good paying career, no only AFTER they get orders do they realize they cannot uphold their oath!

BS flag on this one!

I don’t care about “don’t ask, don’t tell”. Gay soldiers aren’t itching to shoot you or throw a grenade at you. All that matters is one’s loyalty and reliability, as far as the service goes. I don’t like gay behavior any more than you do but it does not compare to the menace of radicalized Muslims in the service.

"It’s not that difficult for an Officer to leave the military."

It is when the army shells out $100K+ in education benefits and that officer is still contractually obligated to serve. Only nonob officers may resign their commissions.

He wasn't enlisted. He was an obligated officer. The Army payed for his medical school (possibly his undergrad as well), and as a result, he had a service obligation - probably a 7x2 or 7x3 contract.

Sitting stateside playing mind games with our troops’ mental health must have been so fulfilling that he regretted interrupting his prostelytizing for Islam, and anti-war, anti-American, treasonous diatribes during counseling sessions. And, then there were his connections with this administration and their shared love of Islam and Baal-lah. What more could the taxpayers expect for their dime? Sarcasm apparent.

Why would he want to leave the military? He was a mooslim plant with the intent of disrupting and then killing as many loyal Americans as he could. The idiot pressed our brave soldiers suffering from PTSD with mooslim garbage. He had a professional position that allowed his to have a at least one-up position in which he dominated them. That was unethical and unprofessional. He practiced with his guns at the range in anticipation so that he could kill many of them. He realized the PC military would tolerate all of his treasonous bullsh**. People should be investigated for allowing this moron in the military (and paying for his education)It unfortunate that someone didn’t frag this bastard. What a mooslim loser. I can only hope that they waterboard his dumb a** until he squacks and then give him some hot lead in the cranium. TRAITOR!
