I live in CNY and I haven’t heard of any people dying around here from swine flu...wonder where they all live

I dunno about the status, but this mexican swine flu has not been the death generator they hoped for.

It’s been a while since I’ve heard any reports on the “flu” but last I heard, it was 70 deaths.
Interesting how it’s gone up and not much of a peep from the news...not that it’d be true if it was reported.

These stats are TOTAL GARBAGE! The CDC does not even test for this anymore so no one really knows. The normal flu kills something like 15,000 every year alone.
150 people die each day during regular flu season.
Curously, the names of all those killed by swine flu appear identical to names on Acorn voter registration lists.

Perhaps they're extrapolating estimates based on laboratory confirmed cases and recognizing only a certain percentages of flu cases are confirmed by laboratory tests.
The common figure for the regular flu is in excess of 30,000. But that too is an estimate. Impractical to test every or even a large fraction of deaths for the flu. What is done is normal moratality is plotted against mortality during the flu season.
But there is no doubt this flu is a killer. The stats are in for the Southern Hemisphere. Median age of death in Australia was 58. Normal flu is 81. Patients had to be airlifted because the country didn't have enough ECMO machines (some patients lungs were so full of snot they could not be put on mechanical ventilation lest their lungs explode--they needed an artifical lung...sometimes for weeks).
The fact is the death toll is being downplayed by the media because Obama and HSS botched vaccine deliveries. CT was supposed to get half a million doses by the end of Oct. It got 180,000. Imagine if Bush were president now. The media and liberals would be howling in rage.
I’m home with the swine flu. Had a temp of over 103 Monday, got Tamiflu, started getting better right away.
and if that number doesn’t scare people into getting the vaccine, they’ll adjust the number upwards yet again..
I tend to agree with your assessment. I don't think this is anythings remotely close to 1918, but it's MUCH worse than SARS ever hoped to be. And, think of the pandemonium surrounding that debacle. The media is covering for Obama.
Who’s cooking the books?
Since every case of flu is being reported as swine flu how can they tell 4000 deaths have been specifically from H1N1?
Was the state run media told to shut up for a while because they screwed up and there’s not enough to go around? Or are they quiet because there is enough and they don’t want to hand it out. Seems like they have enough to vaccinate the terrorists at guantannimo. F the American citizen lets keep our guests alive and well so they can kill more Americans. Did our new terrorst friend from ft Hood get his?
My mom has it right now, and I’m worried about her. It’s turned into pleurisy, and she is in a lot of pain. They did a chest x-ray on her yesterday, and said she didn’t have pneumonia. Doctor sent her home.
My mom rarely gets sick and doesn’t complain much, so if she if she says she’s not well then I think it must be bad.
Who knows since any Type A is supposed to be reported as H1N1. Talk about skewing the numbers.
Totally worthless. As the CBS investigative article pointed out, the Sebelius gang stopped TESTING for swine flu months ago. So they have no idea how many cases there are, or even whether people have flu at all.
This is nothing but more scare politics. I assume they want to use some sort of hyped up “emergency” to push Obamacare through. Hopefully it won’t work.

I thought they gave a direction to stop testing for this flu midsummer, so how would they know this. Post-mortem testing?

I think in my state they are only testing if you get admitted to the hospital.
How would they know? They told hospitals to quit testing for H1N1 in August. They are counting anyone with flu like symptoms as H1N1. There is a report that I saw that said that many so called H1N1 cases, and even seasonal flu cases aren’t flu after all. The only good thing to come out of this propagandist pandemic is the illustration of the ineptitude of the public option.
Normal level of deaths would be 40,000.

Funny - our goofy old Navy Corpsman drove up to the L. A. area and stormed the civilian hospital (I'd gone to the ER and was in the cardiac unit, thanks to a botched intern job on an EKG), yelling "I'm the boy's doctor!"
I'd had "mess duty" for endless weeks in the steamy dish cleaning areas of Camp Pendleton and that's where we figure I contracted it.....but it's never reoccured, thankfully.
When my mom went to the doctor yesterday, they didn’t test her for flu.
I wanted to know if it was definitely flu because if it is we can get tamiflu for my dad who has congestive heart failure.
It started with sore throat, then runny nose and congestion, and then the chest pains.
If you google H1N1, they said that you can get pleurisy from it.
It won’t even be a normal flu season until over 40,000 have died.

You can get pleurisy after any virus, but it is a bacterial infection of the pleural cavity. It is way more often the result of not conquering pnuemonia quickly enough.
Why wouldn’t the doctor prescribe her anti-biotics?

A few days ago my local lib rag, The La Crosse (Wisc) Tribune headlined a big story about a local young boy who had supposedly died form the H1N1 virus. The next day or so they retracted the story, and the docs said it was not the pig flu. Looks like there’s quite a bit of disinformation and faulty diagnoses going on.
That 36,000 number of regular flu deaths per year was way wrong and it served the purpose of stopping panic with the Mexican outbreak.
The real number is not really known; CDC’s data collection is poor. But it was estimated to be at 10k to 15k when the spin cycle was over and the truth came out.
Sorry to hear you have the flu! Glad to hear you are feeling better. Most people have no problem moving through it fine.
But, don’t mess with it. If you have any sense of it moving into your lungs get to a doctor right away.
Seasonal flu is called “seasonal” for a reason. It typically starts in mid to late Nov. and peaks in Jan/Feb. Of course from now on out it will be difficult to determine which type of flu, but so far it has all been H1N1 - as that is all there is.
Although the H1N1 is killing mostly children and young adults rather than the seniors. So that is another way of keeping track.

What is their end game? What do they hope to accomplish?
So it's official. More Americans have died from Obama's Flu than from Bush's War.
Can't say for sure but I'd start by looking into who the gummint contracted with to make the vaccine, how much we are paying them, and how much they contributed to the Undocumented Pres--ent's campaign.
