Military prosecutor to charge major on 13 counts of premeditated killing
Military prosecutors say they will charge Fort Hood shooting suspect Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder, a government official told NBC News.
An announcement will be made later Thursday at Fort Hood, officials said.
The shootings took place at Fort Hood's

What about treason?
Making war on the forces of the Republic?
Just Hang him.
Why don’t they charge him with treason?
How about some hate crime charges the Dems and Zero just passed in the defense appropriation bill.... And what about his Imam in Maryland? Hate crime charges for him
He will be tried, convicted and given life without parole.
It’s not PC to execute a muslim.
“No Terrorism charges? The cover up continues. Rats with media assistance now circling the wagons to protect Obama.”
This is probably a good thing. The only online poll I’ve seen on the subject was running over 90% feeling that it was terrorism.
0bama’s image will take another hit. Coupled with his inaction on Afghanistan, this should be a really bad week for him.
Yup....insanity will be used so they don’t execute a muslim.
Ignore the PC crowd.
The War on Terror continues....
Yo TEXANS!!!
You gotta get Texas to prosecute #14 the baby!!! Likely the only way Hasan will get death penalty any time soon!!!!
Perhaps ... but Islamic Terrorist John Allen Mohammed is still dead.
Murder? Ya think?? I’m surprised the slobbering terrorist loving libs even managed to charge him with that!
Good start, at least.
Have his superiors who assisted his terrorism lectures
(slide show available on the Internet) been arrested?
ignored, or promoted?
Prosecutors are after the death sentence, if these are the charges that will best get him in front of a firing squad (or however they do it still) then they will use those.
Terrorism is probably harder to prove now that the idiot talking heads have tainted the jury pool with their multiculturalism BS anyway.
Uh, he is a military officer, and the incident occurred on a military post, how could he not be tried in a military court?
I think a life sentence in Leavenworth would be better than the death penalty. This is a no nonsense prison where all convicts are subject to strict military discipline day in and out. Denying NMH his 72 virgins and making him march and stand in formation for the rest of his life to him would be a fate worse than death.
Murder? HOW ABOUT TREASON?
They executed the DC sniper, and I have to say I was expecting to see backlash because of it. Maybe that’s yet to come.
Right in yard where the memorial service was help and televise it world wide.
it is a necessary move.
Not going to pursue a 14th charge over the baby that died because the woman was pregnant? It happens at times.
help = held........trying to freep and do business
Murder will be much easier to prove than terrorism. I suppose that could be why.
And it’s 14, not 13. An unborn baby was also murdered.
This is such BS. Under the patriot act a regular US citizen can be charged and convicted of a “terrorist threat” if they verbally threaten someone and that person SAYS that they “feared for their life.”
How can killing 13 people NOT be a terrorist act?
I simply cannot believe our govt is trying to uncover all the facts in this case when they leave his apartment open to the press with evidence of his misdeeds still intact.
This defense lawyer will have a field day with that.
This doesn’t happen by accident..they are covering as much of this up as possible.
No charges of terrorism?
What about treason?
We all know what his motive was...The Muslim even announced it while he was shooting unarmed Americans.
Why is the Army and our government hiding from the truth?
I don’t think they have enough evidence to charge him with terrorism at this point. They do have the evidence to charge him with murder and they can keep him locked up on teh murder charges as they gather more evidence. I’m sure there will be many more charges before he is court martialed.
Hell, a person can;t even buy toilet paper without a P C aspect to it. Think about it.
No surprise that the prosecutors are framed by PC, they want to keep their jobs and promotion schedule.
The genuine warriorship of our military is now dead. They are all wool gathering. I wish Chesty Puller were in charge!
No ... he was convicted of premeditated murder, terrorism, conspiracy to commit murder, and illegal use of a firearm. The Commonwealth of Virginia did not have the authority to charge him with treason.
I am insufficiently familiar with the UCMJ to know the full range of charges which could be brought against Islamic Terrorist POS Hasan.
I’m surprised they charged him with premedidated...no doubt the psychiatric defense will come into play now.
He killed thirteen in Texas. How could he not get the Death Penalty?
WTF is that?
He should be charged with treason.
If he is convicted, where will he serve his sentence? A federal prison?
This terrorist event in Texas has certainly highlighted that.
In the military, the commander charges, the prosecutors don’t. I can already tell the coverage of this terrorist’s legal journey is gonna drive me nuts.

DUH!!!!!!! HOW ABOUT TERRORISM?? This country has gone mad!!!!
“The genuine warriorship of our military is now dead. They are all wool gathering.”
An offensive overstatement with respect to the folks who are currently in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. And with respect to most of the rest of us who are carrying out the oath we swore.
Colonel, USAFR
The Imman that fired him up is an American born of Yemen descent and is now in Yemen....but active on the Internet...
“WTF is that?”
Modern politics.
If, as the investigation unfolded, there was clear and convincing evidence that he was part of broader conspiracy, there would have been a decent chance that he be tried in civilian court, where civilian law offers the most law to deal with terrorist conspiracy and also allow the FBI/DOJ to assert jurisdiction.
Strangely enough, the UCMJ doesn't have any punitive articles that specifically address "terrorism" or "terrorist conspiracy". You do have Art. 104, Aiding the Enemy and perhaps Art. 106B Espionage on behalf of a faction or party or military force within a foreign country, but that's really as close as you get.
Now, I'm not foreclosing the possibility that he is indeed part of a larger conspiracy, but until such a time that strong evidence is developed to support such an allegation, military court is the best place for him, IMHO.
Do you know this retired JAG who's defending this traitor? I had never heard of him, but I've spoken to some friends who all say he's quite competent.
“I am insufficiently familiar with the UCMJ to know the full range of charges which could be brought against Islamic Terrorist POS Hasan.”
The list is legion, even if you don’t count all the federal crimes with which he could be charged under the Assimilative Crimes Act (entering a federal facility with a weapon, etc.).

We live in strange times...
Too bad. If the civilians were to charge this guy he would be found guilty and be executed (it is Texas after all). It has been over 50 years since the military executed anyone. Even if found guilty this guy will spend time in Leavenworth. What a waste
Leavenworth - everybody who gets a sentence of confinement exceeding 18 months goes there. And it is NOT a “club Fed”...

The picture. Where did it come from? Does it really depict Barry Zero, naked, riding a unicorn?
