It’s very fair to send people who disregard the federal mandate to buy health insurance to prison, Nancy Pelosi says, because otherwise they’ll assault citizens … with a bill for medical services … or something.

Once healthcare became a right, the government assumed the right to make us pay for the right, and reeducate us if we don’t understand. Of course, the reeducation isn’t for the poor people who depend upon the government for their healthcare. The reeducation is for struggling, working people who can’t afford the government standards, and while they get a lesson in the woes of disobedience, sympathetic social engineers will make the case for an involuntary, single-payer healthcare system. It’s all about power and control, and the redistribution of power from the people to the elites.
Most people support it, as far as I can tell. They were vocal here about the supposedly socialist public plan, which did not exist, and when it did not exist for sure, they fell quiet about the bill. They support Fascist Care, or Rush does, so they follow. Occasional they say it is “socialist” but when they see it is economically fascist, and understand it, they tacitly like it. Because they believe giving more to large corporations will make themselves rich somehow, sometime, somewhere. Forcing American taxpayers to give money to large insurance outfits ostensibly to pay for lower middle class private insurance. sounds good. Penalties for middle class unisured, even jail? They deserve it. Because Medicare bad, Fascist Super Romney care good!
Take the non-negotiation on Medicare drug costs. Obama follows Bush on this. Would not a real conservative want to get the best value for his tax dollar? Yes, but most self-identified conservatives are corporatists, fascists. Note their quiet compared to the public plan fakery. If the fascist leaders see some upwelling dissention, they trot out the “socialist” word which confuses most because it is not socialism, thus a successful suppression in favor of the forces of fascism, the public-private partnership.

There is no provision. No one in the house read the bill.
Maybe there will be a sale on “revenueers”. The first one will be regular priced and the rest will be free.

The whole problem what Ed is saying it is not credible public policy. If someone never bought health insurance then needs say an expensive treatment or procedure a hospital is not going to throw the person out and let him/her die. If you are going to force insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions and accept all comers you must force people to buy insurance or that will destroy the insurance market. Of course there is nothing necessarily wrong with the status quo where private insurance and the taxpayers pick up the costs of non-insured people.
Nobody is going to jail.
Unless you have money, then you will go to jail.
What nobody is taking about is that people who “can’t afford to buy insurance” will be subsidized.
That’s right, 40-50% won’t pay a dime while the rest of us work our asses off and risk jail time.
I thought they added some minority crap into the bill in order to get them to vote for it.
That’s exactly what will happen. It will be means tested because that’s the whole point of this bill to make folks who have the money pay for the medical coverage of those who aren’t covered.

Well, if there were something in the bill, no congress critter read the entire thing. I heard part of the bill being read, and it makes no sense.

Gee, Nancy—how expensive it is to keep otherwise law abiding and productive citizens in jail? Of course, its probably better for them in jail ‘cause the health care is sooo good. After all, that’s why everyone does anything at all—to get the health care.

Is there a process for We The People to initiate and pass a constitutional amendment forcing the president and all House and Senate legislators to have to follow all national laws and not exempt themselves? How do we get this started? A lot of laws they pass would not be passed if they were also legally bound by them.

Press your state legislature to call for Constitutional convention, Article V.
Ah! I see that there is not a way for us to make Washington DC politicians follow there own laws. There are only 2 ways. This can never come from the politicians themselves, eliminating the first means. And a constitutional convention has never and will never occur, eliminating the second.
We are so screwed.
