With the exception of your opinion about Sarah hurting the campaign, which I understand but do not agree with, you are spot on!

She'll be the nominee or I predict there will be violence at the GOP national convention. No friggin’ way will we allow the snot nosed party hacks to hand us another Rino.

I believe that your prediction is right on the money. No conservative politician has ignited the right-wing base like Sarah has, in a very, very long time. I'm not analyzing the percentage of yeas, versus nays regarding Sarah on this forum, but I'd say that she has about a 90% favorable rating here.

If Free Republic is any barometer of what the center-right wants in 2012, Sarah wins the nomination hands down.

Like many others have said, I don't see anyone - and I do mean anyone who comes even close to her level of enthusiastic support. The rest of the potential field of candidates that we know of at this juncture compare to dry toast, slimy oatmeal, or stale donuts.

Sarah is an invigorating glass of sparkling champagne, compared to all the rest.

Please don’t compare her to Reagan, she’s not close.

Chill, friend. All you saw was someone who wasn't accustomed to being in front of the network television cameras. Nothing more.

Reagan was a practiced, professional actor who was well seasoned with televised media by the time he ran for President. Don't forget that in addition to being well acquainted with television, he had also spent years on the road perfecting his presentation for the 1980 race.

Open your eyes. Sarah's made of the same stuff as The Gipper. She's just got to polish it, is all.

Actual title: Sarah Palin in ‘Going Rogue’: John McCain camp set me up for disaster in Katie Couric interviews

Several things have surprised me about the McCain team and their opinion of Palin. If they thought she was such an airhead, why did they ask her to be first in line to become President if McCain was elected?

Once Palin’s popularity reached the stratosphere, it seemed the team was actually upset about it. They put her in positions that would injur her politically. The Couric interview is a good example. Why would anyone on the McCain team support her doing that interview? It as if the McCain team had preordained they were going to lose, and hurting Palin was a must.

As for Romney being a better choice, I think you’re wrong. Palin was a real draw to the ticket. My take on it is that she garnered McCain at least ten and perhaps 15%. Here on this forum folks were dead set against McCain, then voted for Palin anyway. Would they have done that for Romney? Sorry, no sale on that one.

Does Palin need to polish her act? I think so. I still find her to be a very strong possibility down the road. I have stated I think she needs to work very hard on the issues, debate tactics, and foreign policy, with trips to foreign nation a must.

If she works at it, she could become a very good candidate. If she goes on power-glide and doesn’t do the road work, she’ll scuttle her own chances IMO.

Rush doesn’t endorse candidates, so I agree with you somewhat, but here is what Rush said today about Palin relative to comments TIME editor Mark Halprin made recently about people in Milwaukee, WI responding to Palin as posted on Rush’s website tonight @ rushlimbaugh.com:

Mark Halperin Swerves Into Truth

HALPERIN: This was like a Friday night, I think, one week ago. They showed up really early. I got there three hours early, and I was not the first person in line, by any means. The line stretched over half a mile, and they love her. I’ve never seen anything like this in my career. The gap between... We say casually, “She has support amongst the grassroots.” She truly does, and we’ll see it on the book tour next week. People at the grassroots love her personally. They want her to run for president. The gap between that and what people in this city say, people we know say about her prospects couldn’t be wider......

RUSH: Now, in this sound bite, Mark Halperin swerves, stumbles upon the truth. Sarah Palin represents the disconnect between Washington and the rest of the country......

This book tour starts next week and Washington is going to be stunned. The one thing he’s really right about is they don’t get it. They haven’t the slightest clue how disconnected they are from the base of this country. They have no idea in Washington how disconnected they, in the media are from not just grassroots people, but the people who make this country work.....

-— just snippets, U can read the entirety at Rush’s website.

The above comments and others made during the show, in my view, serve to illustrate that Rush knows which way the political winds are blowing. IIRC, Rush also made an aside at another part of his show that Palin, if anybody today, is the closest person idealogical, to Reagan, of anybody on the political stage today. That statement seems to be in conflict to what U posted here about Rush’s views.

However, as said in the stock forums, you need to do your own DD cuz maybe I’m only seeing what I want to see also.

I disagree with you. I would have stayed home and not voted at all but for Sarah Palin. I didn't vote for mccain, I voted for Sarah Palin. To me mccain was just extra baggage on the ticket.

“I think that McCain might have won had he chosen Romeny as his VP...”

What did I misread? How mispelt ‘Romney’ was? Puh-leeze.

Please don’t compare her to Reagan, she’s not close.

That's true...Sarah has not spent her entire life 'acting'...

People outside of California didn't know Reagan, except in the movies...People outside of Alaska don't know Sarah Palin...But she sounds every bit as good as Reagan when he was running for President...Even better in some areas...

Scenario: 0bama declares his intention to run for a 2nd term. Even though he’s unpopular, he’s the incumbent and everyone’s afraid to challenge him. He runs practically unopposed and it’s a foregone conclusion he’ll be nominated.

What will Democratic voters do in the primaries if there’s no point in casting their votes for the inevitable choice of their party? Well, they can always help select the opposition.

They’ll switch party affiliation, vote for the weakest Republican in the pack. That isn’t Sarah Palin.

I do not believe McCain would have won regardless who his running mate was. Too many negatives were attached to the repubs when the economy tubed.

Exactly, the recognition of Romney’s dupicity and contempt
for the law and Constitutions (he destroyed Mass’s to
impose his gay marriage demand on the Clerks), is
why Romney is so hated on FR (a mirror of the USA).
