This week, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, told reporters the GOP offers a "back-of-the-hand treatment to women." Later she said two conservative female representatives only serve to further "repulse women." You see, Schultz said on MSNBC, Republicans "don't really get very many women when it comes to elections."
The week before, in Virginia, the Republican gubernatorial candidate won women. And in blue New Jersey, the Republican lost women but won white women by 18 percentage points.
Last year, John McCain won a majority of the white female vote. They sum to more than 25 million women. Democrats, so many forget, have not won a majority of white women since 1964.
Few subjects evoke more wrongheaded conventional wisdom than the gender gap. Consider a more common expression of the same factoid. In Democratic commenter Steve McMahon's words, "the Republican party is becoming, regressing to become, a white male southern party." NPR's Juan Williams said the GOP was a "regional southern party of white men." Even Republican strategist Mike Murphy called his GOP "the party of white males." Or as BBC's Katty Kay framed the danger, Republicans "don't want to end up being the party of white men."
The white part is correct. It goes without saying that Republicans must, foremost, win new minority voters. And Republicans do fare significantly better with white men than women. But take BBC's Kay. She's a fair-minded pundit and has written a book about women. But even Kay overlooks that the GOP consistently wins white women.(continued)

Not astounding when you consider it isn’t mere error or oversight. It’s deliberate: Dezinformatsiya.
Each day I wake up and wonder how in hell did we get this community organizer as President of these United States? How come we were so cursed?
And then I’m told that 65% of voters aged 18-29 voted for 0 and according to Gallup (ugly) “WHITE single, divorced, separated, unmarried, or widowed WOMEN” voted “OVERWHELMINGLY” for 0!!!!!!!
Probably so, but I am not convinced that the youth vote will show up in 2012 like it did last year. This group has much to lose from the RAT plan to require everyone to carry health insurance. Suspect a lot of young folks will be over the crush on da One in another year or two.
Only citizens are legally entitled to vote, not legal immigrants. The problem that need to be fixed is illegal voting.
keep in mind, though, a whole bunch of the youth vote WAS blacks. The 2 groups overlap.
The % of the 18-29 among the electorate was roughly the same in 08 as in 04. The difference was that Obama won them 66-34 as opposed to Kerry’s 56-44. +32 vs +12. A 20 pt jump.
A large reason for the bigger disparity was the huge number of young blacks(and hispanics) voting for Obama. Overall the black vote jumped from 11% to 13% of turnout, a record high. Most of that increase was among younger blacks. Among whites 18-29 he won but not by an overwhelming margin. Now, maybe in 2012 it won’t be a big deal to elect a black guy and 2008 will prove to be a one shot deal. Who knows?
Also, Obama is smart. The health care plan doesn’t take effect until 2013, AFTER the election. So by the time they realize what has happened it’ll be too late and he’ll already have been reelected. They won’t see any adverse effects before the election. A good move on Obama’s part.
Married people vote GOP? No problem, we'll tear down marriage.
Prosperous people vote GOP? No problem, we'll import poor people.
Independent people vote GOP? No problem, we'll legislate away your independence.
Educated people vote GOP? That's a tough one. Here's what we'll do: we'll take over the schools, so that those getting educated only hear our propaganda.
Employed people vote GOP? Not when they are government or union jobs.
Amnesty will make the illegal immigrants citizens. Then they will be able to vote - if not in the 2010 elections, at least by the 2012.
Why is it surprising that white women are Republicans? The Republican Party doesn’t treat us like useless victims, too stupid to get an education, a job, to care for a family, or to make choices which benefit - not destroy - the helpless. It’s not a surprise to me, at all. (I’m one of those “white women” Republicans, BTW.)
This is good information and if true, I hope the ratio increases even more substantially in our favor.

The majority of Americans are actually conservative.
But there is one issue that drives them from the Republican side.

Abortion...that’s easy. One of these days we’ll have some form of contraception that is neither incredibly immoral or hard to use. Then we’ll see a decline in those numbers and an incline in all women to the right.
It’s really the only big wedge we have with many women. I side to the right, but I understand the division and realize it’s consequences politically.

Yup.
And my point is whether abortion is right or wrong, it’s simply not a government issue. Government can’t make it right or wrong.
It’s a matter for families. It’s a matter for churches. It’s a doctor-patient item.
If the Republican party were to say “We think that abortion is a bad thing. But at the same time, we do not think it is an issue that government should be involved in.”
It’s simply not the province of government.
You know what I mean.

My comment was based on perceptions of several women with whom I have been acquainted, either through work or other happenstances.
If you read my comment, you will see that I am not disagreeing with the findings captioned in this article.

I can not think of a female humanoid form more repulsive than Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The new definition of butt ugly, with a grating voice that reminds me of fingernails on a chalk board.
I remember reading somewhere that women actually voted slightly more for Nixon in 1960 than JFK-it’s one of the facts the media doesn’t bring up—like the fact that the under 30 vote in 1972 went to Nixon over McGovern.
