From what little I understand of Japanese customs, I believe that the inferior bows lower than the superior as is clearly seen in this picture.
In this case I agree that the great zero, as a human being, is inferior, but as our prez, is not.

Generally speaking, an inferior bows longer, more deeply and more frequently than a superior. A superior addressing an inferior will generally only nod the head slightly, while some superiors may not bow at all and an inferior will bend forward slightly from the waist.

Very possible - that thought crossed my mind, too. In other words, leave him alone on the Saudi grovel because it’s just routine for him to bow before royalty (not to mention the added bonus that it violates all prior US protocol and lets him show his disdain for it on a regular basis).
