November 14, 2009 ^ | Military.Com / AP

Ten high-profile Guantanamo Bay detainees are being transferred to face justice in the United States. The five detainees heading to civilian court in New York to face charges they orchestrated the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks are:

-Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who admitted to interrogators that he was the mastermind of the attacks. He allegedly proposed the concept to Osama bin Laden as early as 1996, obtained funding for the attacks from bin Laden, oversaw the operation and trained the hijackers in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

-Waleed bin Attash,

-Ramzi Binalshibh, a Yemeni, allegedly helped find flight schools for the hijackers.

-Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, also known as Ammar Al-Baluchi, allegedly helped nine of the hijackers travel to the United States and paid them $120,000.

-Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi, a Saudi, allegedly helped the hijackers with money, Western clothing, traveler's checks and credit cards.

The five headed for military commissions in the United States on a variety of terrorism charges are:

-Omar Khadr, born in Toronto, who was 15 when captured after allegedly killing an American soldier during a 2002 battle in Afghanistan.

-Ahmed Mohammed al-Darbi, who says American troops subjected him to beatings, excruciating shackling, painfully loud music, isolation and threats of rape.

-Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud al Qosi, who is accused of acting as al-Qaida's accountant, paymaster and supply chief.

-Noor Uthman Muhammed, who is allegedly a member of al-Qaida, trained at a camp in Afghanistan and later become a weapons instructor.

-Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri is the alleged mastermind of the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole.

Backstory: This is how Obama is getting his investigation and discrediting of the CIA intel methods and officers.

The defense lawyers, paid for by you and me, will do it for him as part of their defense. All in open court, before one of the very liberal Carter-era NY judges.

All very public, all very well covered by the MSM.

This is tyranny.

These people are enemies of our republic and their warfare is being treated as legitimate by this administration.

I figure that money for attorneys plays a heavy role in this decision.

If you thought the OJ trial was bad...

And, since the Illegal Alien and his accomplices really want to try President Bush and the CIA, the Assistant U. S. Attorneys who're assigned to try these cases won't really have their hearts in their jobs and are likely to make "mistakes" that will get us OJ judges and OJ jurors. That being true, none of the cases, including the KSM one, is any more an assured conviction than the OJ case was.

I think that the little girls in congress who are doing what they are told are going to become a little scared of being jobless. The healthcare vote barely squeeked by. If we put even more pressure on them, they will break. As we witnessed many times before, these guys are looking out for their own skin.

That’s right. While Americans were celebrating Independence day year after year, eating hot dogs, apple pie and letting off firecrackers, Obama was in a mosque in Indonesia during his formative years.

This is going to be such a freaking disaster for Obama. Everyday, the NY tabloids will be bashing him. The terrorists will try to bomb the courthouse. There will be violent riots around the trial.

People are going to get so incredibly fed up with the forum that this will give islametards and their "kill Americans" talking points. The defense lawyers will make everybody want to puke. Here comes Ron Kuby!

It's going to go bad in a million ways for this idiot. And it's going to make the common dopes on the fence realize how sick to death of this appeasement crap they really are. They'll be begging for a return to the normal "kill the bastards" mentality in the war on terrorism.

Palin/Gitmo 2012.

Holder announced it on a friday after Hussein had bugged out of the country. The neocoms in the WH know they are vulnerable on this issue. We need to keep hammering them on it.

This is why Eric Holder was put in this postion.

Pay attention to Eric Holder’s law firm and Gitmo detainees By Michelle Malkin • January 23, 2009

Eric Holder is a senior partner with Covington & Burling, a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis currently held at Gitmo.

The fact that Mr. Holder, while Deputy Attorney General, pushed for the release of 16 violent FALN terrorists against the advice of the FBI, the US Attorneys who prosecuted them and the NYPD officers who were maimed

I wonder if congress could challenge this. It puts the country at risk.

So the obvious question [and we already know the answer] is why can’t we try them all one way or another? What criterion was used to decide how each would be tried?

I wish Bush had tried these punks in the military court way back when. However, my history on this isn't clear and it seems (according to my fuzzy recollection) that he was hobbled by some liberal legal groups and unable to do this.

Does anybody know more about this?

"wonder if congress could challenge this. It puts the country at risk. "

I bet they could if they raised a big enough stink. It would require the webs, talk radio, some backbone from Pubbies, and the slightest bit of cooperation from old media. Odds are they could get it all, since even New Yorkers are sure to be furious with this.

Obie and Holder have really overreached again.

Bush was hobbled by his lack of nads and ergo by his own wussiness. He could have stood up at ANY time and made his case to the American public on any number of crap attacks he endured from the leftists. He could have explained to the intelligence-challenged and mentally impaired liberals that it was a matter of national security. But noooooo! He let us down just AS his dad did.

There was an endless cycle of appeals to the higher courts, rulings in the terrorists favor by liberal judges which required congress to pass new laws which they did, and then more appeals.

Just all part of Obama’s deliberate and calculated strategy to destroy U.S. power.

So far, all of his plans are working perfectly, thank you very much. Of course, that’s no great feat, as it is so very much easier to destroy something than to build it. For instance, the difference in effort to build the World Trade Towers versus crashing a couple of airplanes into them.

At this point, the Obamaites are busily crashing a fleet of airplanes into U.S structures on purpose. And Nancy Pelosi and her flock of clueless Democrats have signed up to be pilots.

Yes, the UK subway bombers were tried in the UK. They were caught there.

We have a poll set up and appreciate anyone who votes on it. We think it will also make you feel better. When you see it, you’ll know why.

The 3 UK subway bombers were tried twice — first a hung jury and then an acquittal — but 2 were convicted of the lesser charge of “conspiring to attend a terrorist training camp”.

Holder announced it on a friday after Hussein had bugged out of the country.

On a Friday after the 5 pm news and after everyone was at a football game (we won!) or elsewhere. He's proven his m.o. and we need to take note. Ten detainees this week, a few more next week, and he'll have Gitmo empty and closed down by Independence Day... Didn't say America's independence day...

first a hung jury and then an acquittal

After the Gitmo monsters' attorney ask for a change of venue, dismissal of all charges due to denied speedy trials/failure to mirandize/various technicalities, horrendous torture while in custody, demand for live tv coverage of trials denied, big bad US' investigative techniques, charges against the military/Bush/America, and on and on and on after years and years and years, the same will result here - hung juries and acquittals followed by full citzenship and pilot licenses and the keys to the WH.

It’s not “all” because this is just the first group. Hussein gets this group off and then it’s easy sailing for the rest. End of Gitmo. End of the US.

If trying KSM as a civilian is such a great idea, why not try them all the same way ?

Conversely. if military tribunals are sufficient for five, why not for all ten of them ?

Just some political BS to appease his critics on the left ?
